NAILS DISCUSSED ALREADY

I tuned into a Diamonique show and was so distracted by long black and gold nail polish. I've noticed this on makeup and/or jewelry shows where there are tight camera shots on the products.

Of course, I quickly hit the remote to change the channel. Anyone else put off by these extreme nail colors?

While I love to see a manicured hand during jewelry presentations or any presentations for that matter, I simply don't understand why the extreme pointy ones with obnoxious nail polish are allowed on air. There should be some kind of protocol in place.

I am not put off by host nails. Nail art very popular. I never wear polish but don't let what other people wear on their nails trouble me.

I've posted about how distracting and annoying this "nail art" can be when items are being presented on air on a shopping channel with close-ups, etc. My post was considered unkind. QVC is not interested.

No, it doesn't bother me at all.

When I grew up I had an Aunt that was critical of most new fashions and make-up trends. I swore I would never be like that.

It is normal for our youth to try different things out of our mature comfort zone.

It doesn't hurt anything, so I just let it go.

No, nail art and nail color does not distract, frighten or intimidate me. Mentally, I can focus on the product and not the host's manicure. Having said that, I like seeing nail art. This subject comes up a lot now and it baffles me. I think for some, it's a back door way of saying they don't like a particular host.

Yes, I think it's in poor taste. These people are trying to make their on-air time "it's all about ME" time. Management should encourage them to display less distracting nails.

Years ago, when QVC was in its infancy, hosts were only allowed to wear pale polish so as not to distract from the presentation, especially if the manicure had some chips or imperfections. Yes, it was a little boring, but this nail art is ridiculous and much too extreme. My, how times have changed.

I enjoying seeing different effects and colors on nails. It is interesting to me. I would like to have art on my nails but I go with just polish because I don't want to go to gel.

It doesn't distract me, in fact it would make me focus on the product being shown for a longer time or look at a product I would not normally check out..

I have well manicured and filed long nails that look very natural compared to what I see on TV. I know the JTV hosts have long nails but are not allowed to wear dark polishes, only whites and very pale shades.. Kathy Levine wrote in one of her books that Q hosts cannot wear any dark or distracting polishes. Looks like times have changed on the Q. I do find it unattractive and distracting.

This isn't about nail art being "very popular".

It's about the lack of professionalism with hosts that have good jobs and should know that the presentation isn't about them getting attention, but doing everything possible to do an excellent presentation and never distract in any way from the vendor's product.

What's with the unprofessional silliness? This is a bleeping shopping channel...lol. The hosts aren't supreme court justices....lol. They are just selling stuff to people and the majority don't even notice their nails. How many people are buying those chicken tenders are focused like a laser on the host's nails. I think some people need to get out of the house and see what real life is like now.

I love nail art! I love differences and diversity in all places, people, things. Life would be pretty boring if we were all stepford wives-like.

Don't be as stuffy like some of the prior generations are/were (I'm 70).

Life is too short to get upset about such minor things.. Enjoy it and move on.

This is a shopping channel. It's not life or death. It's such a minor issue in life. Don't let something so little bug you. Life is too short.

Professionalism? At Q? Hardly, given all the stupid antics and talk we see/hear every day on air.
