@rockygems123 Here's a new hallmark for you on a Carolyn Pollack piece I got today. It definitely reads, UTC INDIA. Any idea what UTC stands for?

@Kachina624, I'm a big CP fan so was really curious about this. Went to Google and this is what I found. Sounds logical and legit....other then hairspray is misspelled. Ha!

UTC is as follows. U=No Ultrasound (A cleaning machine. Not recommended -especially for stones with cracks). T=Avoid Temperature Extreme -Sudden changes C=Avoid Chemicals, perfume, hairpray. Put on jewelry last. Use perfume oils instead of alcohol sprays.Don't wear in hot tub or pool. Remove to safe place when cleaning. that's the care instructions

UTC is the hallmark. Usually a wholesaler called the Ultimate Trading Company, which operates out of New Jersey but has dealings overseas. They have a website.

Hmmm, @Sammycat1, that does sound more plausible then what I posted. Especially since the "UTC" is right beside the word India. @Kachina624, I think this is your answer. It's all very interesting. Who knew??

India is one of the largest wholesalers of color gems in the world. Because of the huge abundance of gems, retailers can get them cheaper from there then from somewhere else. They are also the largest consumers of gold in the world. So a lot of gold is recycled there.

@Kachina624 If the piece is oxidized silver (looks like it may be), we know to clean it differently to avoid removing the darker areas, right?

@Shanus. Actually this piece is unusually shiny with less oxidation than most SW jewelry, but yes, we're wild women with a Sunshine Cloth.

@Kachina624 I have boxes of those magic cloths!! I used to put one in every box of silver jewelry I sold... Still have hundreds left!! Wild woman? Always.

@Kachina624 That is terrific thank you so much for posting! Was wondering when an import country would be shown on CP pieces.

Was this CP purchase on their website or the Q?

UTC Ultimate Trading Corp jewelry is usually from Italy or Thailand, haven't seen India yet. A sterling piece I recently listed was also marked India and I was suprised, thinking it was a Judith Ripka? India isn't seen as often as Thailand and China and it was a well made piece.

And as you've stated before @Kachina624 we can reverse the shine putting the oxidation back on with a process I've used also with chopped hard boiled eggs and a LocknLock ha.

@Kachina624 Yes I found the American West website when looking up your beautiful Fritz Casuse feather pendant which was maybe a month ago? Crazy thing is when I looked there was jewelry for sale on that site and now only a direct link to QVC.
