How do you keep your post earrings on?

I usually wear lever backs but the other day I got out some gold earrings with posts. I lost one in the shower almost immediately, evidently I rubbed it off while shampooing. Thank goodness neither part went down the drain. I wasn't so lucky with the second pair several hours later. I was pulling off a shirt over my head and tiny tink as the earring hit somewhere on my hutch loaded with collectible glass. Or did it bounce off onto the floor and under the hutch? I'll deal with that another day, too busy around here. One pair had the standard clutch backs and the other pair had the silicone backs.

@depglass Amazon has several different kinds of secure and locking earring backs that I use.

Sometimes you can just bend them together to make them tighter again if they are the small metal ones with the two circles. Just firmly press the two circles together will bend the metal a little bit and tighten them up.

I understand, @depglass - that's why I don't wear them anymore. I will not buy post backs. Like you, it's lever backs all the way.

Not only do I lose them (I have fat earlobes and they need to be very long, and even then I have to mush the back on) but they make it hard to sleep while they're in, and I like wearing earrings all the time.

I lost a favorite pearl post earring taking off a shirt - it landed in the crack of a sofa and I searched for years, in vain, to find that thing.

I don't have any suggestions, except that I wish you well finding that lost one.

I wish I knew. I have a bowl of earrings that I had lost the mate. I am serious there must be 75 or more earrings in the bowl.

I also have tried all different backs. And still I lose an earring.

Having to wear a mask, I have lost earrings at a rapid rate. I am still upset about losing a gold peridot earrings while putting on a mask while entering a store.

I stopped wearing earrings for awhile. When I used the phone at work, I would often lose an earring. But then when I was going to a wedding, it took the drive through the entire state of Ohio (South to North) to get an earring in.

I just make sure I push the earring back as close to my earlobe as possible. Also I never shower with jewelry on or get dressed. My earrings are the last thing I put on before going out and the first thing I take off when coming home. I never have lost an earring, truthfully. I do prefer leverbacks as well though.

Most of my good post-style earrings have screw-backs. Push on and then unscrew to take off. Those kind (threaded posts) are the ones I never lose.

I like the rubber ones and the disc ones with the backing attached. also bought the oversized backs from JTV more so because they keep my earrings from drooping in front.

If you have multiple piercings, you can "mix & match" with the leftover "singles"......

If you use one of those "non-slip" bathtub mats....check there for the lost earring. (I've found a couple stuck in the drainage holes).

I've never been able to get those little silicone dots onto the posts, so I usually just throw them out.

As much as I love jewelry, I no longer "fight" with it. Life is too short.

They have a spring lock on each side of the post that you need to squeeze to get off. They are $12.55 but well worht it.
