I have no idea. There was supposed to be a Judith Ripka gold hour and they replaced it with JAI. Can't he be on some other day? August 17th is Klondike Gold Rush!

@candyagain I don't wear gold anymore, but am so over JAI. It's beginning to look all alike. Tired of the box chain designs.

@rms1954 I am not buying silver or gold right now, but gold at JAI prices? I'm obviously spoiled because if I wanted new gold jewelry, today's TSV might cover a first EZPAY, if that.

I know I could check eBay and other secondhand sources, but in my own house, I can "buy" without spending anything more than my time and I will end up wearing something the same or similar.

It sure is a different gold rush that's for sure. I wish they wouldn't spend 30 minutes on the TSV earrings. That is a little over kill.

I'll say what many here are saying: Thank goodness I bought gold when it was 20-30 a gram. I'm seeing pieces that look similar to what I have and unless I'm making a mistake in calculation, the cost is over $100 a gram?

Just can't bring myself to spend that much for a very small amount of gold. I don't even wear most of what I have.

I always looked to this and the January event for my gold purchases. There are some nice pieces online, but nothing much on air. There were some pieces that showed better on air than online. So of course I wished they showed more gold on TV.

I think they had more gold yesterday, on Q2, than today.

I have ZERO interest in Affinity, Diamonique and Jai.

I think the beefiness in gold went out long ago, so sad to say. I love my collection from 15 to 25 years ago, much of it is from SHQ, they had beautifu gold pieces in heavy weights for goods prices back then. the days when Charla and Karen were selling it.

@Shelbelle I agree that old ShopNBC had the best gold at the best prices! I remember they used to sell 24K gold for less than $20/gram, and I was concerned it was a scam. Eventually I got comfortable and started ordering. I loved the jewelry of the 18k guy (sorry, don't remember the name, Sheinman maybe?), and the Ramsey gems, which were incredible values. I bought a few Ramsey pieces, and wished I would have bought more before they left. Those I liked and didn't buy I thought maybe were too big, but they really were not. The Ramseys priced everything under $300, and some pieces were unbelievable! They must have been to their creditors because the Ramseys went bankrupt. Sad. I wish I had bought more Ramsey gems.

I did buy big gold from ShopNBC, but ended up selling it when prices went high because I think the big gold pieces looked kind of gaudy to wear. A kid in a collectible store once told me he'd never seen as much gold on a chain other than on sports players. Maybe he thought I was a WAG! He must have never seen any rappers! I probably broke even with the sales, after getting years of enjoyment from those large pieces.

Anyway, the Ramsey rings would not have been too big! I would have loved them and kept them. I kept the ones I have, tiny.

I'm glad that I bought my gold and most of my silver 20-25 years

ago. It seems that the prices for silver are about what I spent for gold back then. My best purchases were 18 kt. pieces from Shop NBC.

@NYCLatinaMe That was my gold!! I loved that network. I got in to it by accident. My husband, then my boyfriend told me about it. He knew I loved gold. I just fell in love with the show. Not just gold. Great gems by the Ramseys, and diamonds galore. I have one piece (a ring that cascades little diamonds in to spelling Love. Really unique and interesting jewelry. Another 18K white gold charm bracelet that spells out Amore. This was where I go my first Omega. A big honker at 38 grams. And I paid a lot for it then.

@songbird I had to read that sentence again. At first, I thought that your husband recommended Shop NBC and later, your boyfriend did! Shop NBC did have great jewelry. I got a 1/2" wide 18kt. Byzantine bracelet for $399. and a 1" wide 14 kt. intricately

woven bracelet for around the same price. From Shop NBC I also

purchase a 14 kt. wide Omega necklace and a gorgeous Persian

turquoise oval ring with diamonds in 18 kt. We will probably never see prices like that again. I really do have enufstuff.

@Enufstuff He had seen it one day on TV. I think he was home sick from school. Can't remember. He told me about it. Couldn't remember the name but he said it had NBC in it. I hunted around for it. We had just gotten cable. Finally I found it. I was desperate for 18K! I missed it so much and I didn't like (at the time) 14K! Oh I was bad! A real snob about 18K. It was the only real gold. 14K was even gold. All that Italian propaganda! Up till then I depended on my mother when she went on her annual trips to Italy to stay with family in Milan She would buy me 18K. I couldn't fine it anywhere around me. QVC must have been around. If it did, I never watched it. Then suddenly ShopNBC went away & came back with another name. And it was't the same. I still buy 18k from them under the name ShopHQ.
