One pair of my huggies were much smaller than appeared on TV and online...couldn't even get around lobe to click closed (the Diamonique ones). I had ordered another pair, too and the closure broken when arrived. Getting disgusted w/ quality of merchandise and quality control. These things should be thoroughly checked before mailed.

*The platinum clad 100 facet and the huggie inside/outside w/ stones.

Glad I cancelled my order.

With millions of products coming in from all over the world......how can 'they' check every item?

Also items are already pre-packaged and ready to ship to consumer. QVC would have to un-wrap and re-wrap before shipping. Mission Impossible................

@fthunt The design is flawed. They just needed to check the samples.

Thanks @Shanus . Those pave huggies are the ones I mentioned in a thread I started recently and I knew the huggies were very tiny....it's what I want.

The other one you mentioned, with the single front-facing stone, doesn't have a locking clasp so I didn't order them.

About those pave huggies...

It says in their description that they measure 1/8" wide. When I saw that, their size came into perspective, especially when I looked at the posts which looked to be rather big in thickness but then not really.

Over the years of shared earnings, I found there are vast differences in lobe thickness and hole placement.

Could be the reason.

Perfect timing because I was reading replies this morning on Quora to the question: Why are Chinese products so poorly made?

This website is international, so of course, Chinese-Americans and Chinese nationals added their own thoughts.

Most of the Chinese responses were about price, what retailers are willing to pay to have products made. What consumers are willing to pay. The lower the price, the lower the quality.

Of course, that's true wherever you go.

However, what about the Bait and Switch Quality Fade commonly found in China? The high quality of the sample sent to retailers for approval fades over time as the manufacturer makes more money by cutting corners, but the buyer is paying the same price.

This from a consumer.

Chinese-made goods mostly suck because many Chinese business people have lousy business values. When a Chinese manufacturer takes a contract, they often feel little or no actual obligation to manufacture according to spec, if cutting corners will make more money for them or their network of family and friends.

I keep wondering when U.S. companies are going to wise up and start reinvesting in the United States, which used to be the envy of the world when it came to high-quality manufacturing. I'm not holding my breath though, because while U.S. executives are busy examining their own polyps, Chinese executives are laughing all the way to the bank, which BTW they now own.

@Shanus Quality control, if it still exists, is a random process and always has been. There's no ways they could check every one of 5,000 or more pairs of earrings, especially since so many experience shipping delays and must be sent to customers NOW.

@Foxxee I have to disagree with your article. The Chinese-made clothing I've received over the years has been beautifully made. I've never had a manufacturing flaw in any of the dozens of pieces I've gotten. Never lost a button even after repeated wearing. Never had a hem come out or a seam ravel. No complaint whatsoever.

Lol. I knew I'd hear from you because you stated this quite a few times. However, my and many others experiences have been quite different than yours. I know that leaves you scratching your head asking "How can that be?"

My experience is with a wide variety of things, not just clothing. When something arrives with a tie dye look that wasn't supposed to be tie dye, size 8 and 10 actually measure as a QVC 6, a jacket measures 2 inches shorter than QVC's measurement, an AC dies after 28 days, lights don't work after 5-6 weeks, paint and glass chips, dents in the product not caused by shipping, lumpy and uneven paint application, dried glue dripping down the sides of the product, parts put on crooked, holes in the metal, just a few examples, something is very wrong.

Price isn't always a factor. The prices of the above range from $75 to $450.

China does make some very high quality things, but I think some American companies supervise manufacturing more closely making sure quality is up to their standards.

@Foxxee I haven't personally had the misfortune of receiving the junk you have, I do read constant complaints about VPHs items being of such extremely poor quality. While not cheap, they are at the lower end of cost. I also hear a lot about the "planned obsolescence" of major appliances which are very expensive and don't last long.

There's a reviewer who posted a picture showing the huggies on the ear. To me they don't look that small. They look like what I imagined them to be.

I've had size issues in the past from different companies. Q always has the measurements listed for their jewelry in the online description. If I can't visualize it I make a sketch using the measurements so I know it will work for me.
