I think the tie dye is a combination of colored stones and not a coating.

I wonder how they did that?? They look like a mosaic stone...very cool. My guess is that they are doublets or possibly triplets.

Item # J 363976 is all I've seen so far. It's similar to a Watermelon Tourmaline, but not those colors...just shaded to reflect light in various colors. It's not done mosaic style with separate stones. Courtney also has a ring called Kaleidoscope color with the same effect but the colors are more pastel. I'm sure it's done the same way other Diamonique clear stones have been made with color added + an additional process. On the item # mentioned, there's a video.

The ring is very pretty. It reminds of a mystic topaz, It is actually a good price.
