I missed the introduction of this show. So I don't know exactly what 1KT gold is. The website says it has the same mixture of metals of 14K but the brilliance of 18K. Still not clear what it is. It looks like another attempt to sell gold somehow because it's become out of reach for many people. From what I understand, it's simply 1 karet of gold manufactured in such a way to resemble big bold gold. Very strange. Not 9K, 10K,14K, 18K or 24K. Just 1K.

The description says it is 1K gold alloy whatever that is. I can tell you with absolute certainty I am not paying $430 for a bracelet that isn't 14k gold. I don't think this stuff is even gold.

I missed Pat's show but I did hear her say on the previous show that gold one wasn't even gold?? Maybe she misspoke.

I know they were mentioning a electroform item this morning.................and it was fairly expensive....another word for 'plated".............these lose me there...

If you google 1KT gold, you will see the company's website. But they are still vague about it. It is 1K of gold. That's it. Just mixed with other alloys in such away that it looks like great gold. But yes, that knockout bracelet has the look, not the instrinsic gold makes up enough gold.

Oh QVC.....you've sunk so far in your gold show.....

How low can they sink? No mention of nickel or copper content for allergy suffers.

OK. That explains it. It's plated gold. I wondered how the hades they would make 1K gold.

@KrimpetteI remember. That's when gold cost about 1/4 on the gold market what it does today - so to get the ssme quality that we did then, multiply by 4. That should cover the gold as well as all the other costs that have also risen during the 20-25 years we've lived since then!.

Maybe I'll look at Gold Day later on, but I haven't seen gold anywhere for the last 7 years that I'm willing to buy so it's unlikely today will be any different.

I sold bunch of my stuff back when gold was 1600 an oz.

If it keeps climbing I'd be pawning at 2,000 an oz.

Right now...Friday AM....gold is $1506 = down $16.00

The last few days it's been climbing - so I've been watching after a long spell of 'no' action. Now today - splat - crash = that's a big drop.

The Italians (in fact all Eurpean countries) have never recognized 14K as gold. My mother was shocked the first time this Italian woman ever saw 14K gold. She thought the jeweler was joking.

@songbird Yes, 18K is the norm in most of the world...not US.

After having worked in the industry for years, I never thought I would live to see the day this would be sold @Shanus .

Just received a pair of earrings and the posts were missing. Lightweight junk for $241.00. Looked great on the QVC website. When will I learn??

1kt is a joke. It’s 99% base metal or silver alloys (mix of metals) and 1% gold with gold clad. It’s costume. It makes me wonder if Q thinks it’s customers are not very bright.

There's probably more gold in your cell phone than what's in a 1K gold piece of jewelry. Electronics are what's causing the price to continuously rise...that and India's insatiable desire to own it.
