Lost wedding set....

I am sick that I have misplaced my diamond and wedding band. I have checked, rechecked, and rechecked again every place that I have been to without any success. DH wants me to start thinking about replacing them, but I am not sure of the direction I want to take. We have been married 44 years this December, and I got the latest set for our 25 anniversary. I haven't contacted our homeowners insurance company yet, still thinking I will find them. My problem is that I really don't want to invest that much money again in their replacement at this stage of our lives, but don't want a cheap cz to replace this beautiful set. Any thoughts for me?

By a beautiful single gold band (with or without diamonds), and then if you find your set, you can always continue to wear the band with the set, depending on how wide your diamond set is.

Check all pockets? Beside all sinks. Backtrack your movements. Unless you removed them outside of home, they must be there somewhere.

@Hoovermom If you have used the vacuum recently, empty the bag. Check places where you are "sure" they could not possibly be! The floor of your car, any bathroom drawers, in the freezer (not kidding), in your shoes, turn your purse and any pockets inside out, any odd place like that.

Maybe a bit of a prayer: "Dear St Anthony, please come 'round. My wedding set is lost and needs to be found." Always works for me.

Ask the universe to help you find them. Be calm and curious. This has worked for me sometimes.

@Kachina624 : I have been on the lookout for the past week and a half along with DH, DS and DDIL. I have retraced my steps, checked pockets, purse, under the bed, by the bed, car, you name it we have all looked. It is so upsetting because I am the one who finds things for everyone else.

@Love my grandkids : Thank you for the kind wishes. I don't any other place to look as we all have gone over the places I have been multitudes of times. Sorry to say I haven't used the vacuum cleaner but asking my cleaning person (who is here today) to check it. Thanks for that tip.

I lost a valuable piece of jewelry once. It was gone for weeks. I finally found it in the dirty clothes hamper. I have noidea how it got in there.

A note of encouragement! This happened to me about 10 years ago with my original wedding ring set. It was too small and I had taken it downstairs to show DH and consider about getting it sized or possibly a new setting or new rings.

When I took it back upstairs I grabbed a stack of washed blankets and took those as well, ring held in my closed hand. I put the blankets away and never noticed the ring had fallen out and was hidden within their folds. I looked everywhere, never thought of that place. Several years later I was rearranging those blankets and when I lifted the top one off there was my wedding ring set nestled perfectly in the center of the next blanket.

It was such a relief and so exciting to find it! I did get a new setting and now I wear the rings with much pleasure, so beautiful, and it's still my original diamond.

Be patient, think of every possible place, relax, it will appear.....

@ Montana : I cannot claim that I am calm, but I have been very curious about where these jewels can be. Maybe it is going to happen today. Fingers crossed.

@author : The thing with this set is that I always take them off at night along with another ring on my right hand. I have that ring but not my diamonds. I hope it appears really soon. My fingers look sad.

Don’t give up hope! Your story reminds me of what once happened to me. A long time ago I thought I had lost my diamond engagement ring and I had no clue where. After a couple of months of my ring being lost, I figured it was gone forever. Then one day my husband happened to put on a pair of gloves and there was my ring inside the glove finger. I had put my husband’s gloves on for a short time to move some wood into our wood burner and my ring came off when I removed the gloves. So if you have worn any gloves lately, look inside them. 😃

My Mom once lost the diamond from her engagement ring. Weeks after a major man hunt, she was changing purses and found it at the very bottom.

Years later I misplaced my engagement ring. Again, major searching. After about a week, I thought to empty my purse, which I had searched several times, but had not emptied. There was my ring.

Honey, go shake out that bag! : 0 > Just hoping for you.

Have you checked your bedside table? For some reason I've started taking mine off in my sleep and putting them there.

@Hoovermom I am another person who asks St. Anthony to pray that I will find lost items. He has never failed me....I remember not being able to locate an important document at work. Prayed for help....a few minutes later I pulled a seldom used file from the cabinet ...and there was my document! My daughter lost a ring in our yard full of fallen leaves. I told her to ask St. A.......and she found her ring on the driveway!

I just asked him to help you, too. 🌷
