WATCH PRICE INCREASE!!

I've had the Bulova J375127 on my wish list for a while now, hoping the price would drop. A while back it dropped from $412.50 to about $389 during the silver sales, but only for a couple days. Not much of a mark down, IMO.

Well, last week the price JUMPED from $412.50 to $575 ... a more than $160 increase! Yikes!

Is this common? I was shocked .... and would love some feedback from the watch lovers on here ... TIA!

If it has a stainless steel back, price increase may be due to tariffs.

@Tinkrbl44 : For the last twelve years I have worn Ecclissi sterling exclusively; I have bought at least ten watches all from EBay and never more than 25% of retail price. I just pop a new battery in and I'm good to go. Check for that Bulova on Ebay.

That same watch is $391 at the Kohl’s site and $264 on the Jet dot com site. Also, I believe Amazon has it, too. Ignore the item number from QVC and just Google the description. You can buy that watch in many places for far less than $575. A little effort saves a lot of money. Don’t follow it in QVC, just buy it somewhere else if you really like it.

I can't speak to the reasoning for this dramatic price fluctuation but I have seen it on Evine often. I'm sure you know that you can find a much better price. Amazon and WorldofWatches seem to have the best price I have purchased from WorldOfWatches -- top quality.

I've noticed sometimes they raise the price HIGH and not too long after put it on clearance so they can show a big reduction from the briefly raised price. Sometimes....

Combination of tarrifs and well in some the effect of gold prices. I got a 14K 30" birdcage necklace. Yes, the birdcage is 3 dimensional with a gold bird inside. It jumped from $788.00(my price to over $1,400.00, & now down to $939.00 Which means they will be offering again on the next gold day.

I know that Citizen bought out Bulova several years ago. I know that Citizen is a Japanese company. That's a big jump in price. It's possible that Bulova watches are made in China or that parts of the watches are made in China and tariffs played a role in the price jump.

Typical of the Q and other retailers. This place wouldn't be my go-to for a watch--with a few exceptions.

Because of the trade war, you're going to see more price increases.

FYI:It's estimated the increase in tariffs may cost American families an average of $1K per year. Of course, you'll really feel it if you an average person who likes to shop.
