Shocker; inside out hoop earrings. The other option would have been a set of studs in all the semi-precious hues.

Would have been interested in something truly unique, but wasn't expecting that to happen.

I don't care for the TSV because they are an old style, and also I am one of the few people on the boards who does not care for oval hoop earrings.

Even though they are a classic design and never really go out of style, I prefer round hoops. I have so many hoops...it's my obsession.

ETA- For me omega-back hoops are nice but they are not very secure. I've lost some hoops with omega-backs because they pull off too easily. I like push-lock closures much more. You can't lose those unless they are ripped out of your piercing...heaven forbid.

I would have bought the smaller size IF they had offered them in nice, red garnet! The Q has done this before at least once, offered the "standard" semi-precious gems except for garnet, I think it was the Or Paz rose bracelet. I'm disappointed, but I guess it saves me money, right?

I always enjoy the gem days/weeks--nice break from all the boring stuff presented. I like the hoops but prob won;t be buying anything--have a ton now. but I have to say that I think I can find the same hoops for alot less on JTV . I am a silver girl so that is fine with me, but I also like to watch the high end, expensive things too----have no desire to own any. I have a chrome diopside, my fave, necklace coming from JTV today; got a great sale price as well as free shipping and fast shipping as well.

Don’t understand the draw people have to white topaz, for me it’s a very dull and cloudy stone. Have not purchased this stone in years and donated what I had for reason stated. I purchased the Ripka Big Deal hoops from about a month ago so have no interest in the TSV. I do agree about using same several gems over and over in these featured presentations.

I'm a hoop person in various styles and sizes. However, these particular earrings don't appeal to me. I would like a wider hoop with larger stones. Most of my inside/outside hoops have come from JTV.

Like @Kindaglitzy , not sure why they did white topaz. Not that I'm buying but white zircon would have been so much better. White topaz is a bad stone. Always just looks cloudy and dull.

So I've had QVC on most of the day in one or two room (walking back and forth).

It makes me realize how much jewelry I have. I'm like many of you (probably).

Well, when my husband died I started buying a lot of jewelry and I wore it. However, as I got older I don't buy as much.

Today makes me realize all of the money I spent on some expensive jewelry.

I just saw an all pearl bracelet being sold for $199. OMG! I have that same bracelet in 3 colors AND variations of it!

Recently, my oldest daughter was looking at my jewelry. She used to be a jewelry freak. She had the Tiffany brochure so memorized, the salesperson asked her if she wanted a job! Ha!

But as she looked at my jewelry (we have very different taste...(I lean toward gaudy and bigger)..she said, "Mom! What's going to happen to all this jewelry.

I have it in cases, color coordinated. But...as my arthritis has gotten worse, so has my ring size (now 10 and 11).

She said, "You know teenagers don't wear pearls and the girl's ring sizes are way smaller..

I've always told them how much I HATE (yes all caps) diamonds. Always thought they were boring...no color.

So, I try to tell them they must be careful and not think the jewelry is fake, because it isn't.

It's just too much to try to sort out and put prices on it. You'd think I'd be more aware of this because when we had a house fire I had to replace or give the value of all of the items that got smoke damage, etc. It was an unbelievable amount of toys my girls had when they were young. I had to sit on the internet and try to figure out the value of Fisher Price toys, etc. I thought I'd loose my mind but I did it. That was in 2001. Now I'm a lot older and have way, way less patience and I don't have my husband urging me on! Ha!

I used to call him my "GATE KEEPER". He'd calm me down and put me on the right track and keep me from going way overboard on things. I'm a person who thinks, "If one is good, two is better and let's just go for three" (of whatever it is).

I'm curious. I know many of you are close to my age or a little younger. I also bet you have lots of beautiful jewelry that's now worth something.

What have you guys decided to do to try to ensure your family doesn't just think it's junk?

When my husband died I gave my girls some of the very, very expensive jewelry he bought me that means something special. This is the jewelry I bought myself, so it doesn't have sentimental value to them.

I have 5 granddaughters so far, so I assume they'll end up with some of it.

As I sit here typing this I'm reminded of my friend I eat with most days. She has some very expensive jewelry. She'll pay $5,000 for a ring that you need a magnifying glass to see it! She doesn't have children and has been a widow since 1997.

I feel guilty because I'm always after her about telling her niece what she wants her to have. She doesn't even have a will.

At least I just updated my will and since my middle daughter is going through a divorce my will is locked up air tight.

Just last week my friend that works at my bank called me into her office. She handled a lot of my late husband's businesses and I know her quite well. She was telling me that she'd just (finally) gotten her husband to agree to draw up a will. She said, "I sit here day after day and hear the saddest stories about people who have their money so tied up (no will, etc) they can't even bury their spouse.

I think many of us are guilty (I am) of what my grandma used to call "the pot calling the kettle black". For those who aren't familiar with that saying, it means, "telling everyone else what to do and not doing it yourself".

My picture would be next to that saying and the word "procrastinator". Ha!

What a total dud of a TSV. The stones look so washed out. No saturation of color which indicates poor stone quality. They can't do better than this?

The TSV is a big yawner. Those blue topaz are so light you can hardly tell they are blue--and, really, how many blue topaz pieces can you buy??

The few stones other than the same tired, old semiprecious ones are ridiculously expensive, or obviously poor quality (the sterling pink sapphire heart is a good example.) The few pieces I saw that interested me were plate. I don't buy plate.

Bottom line, I didn't see anything I wanted. It's disappointing not to see one thing I wanted to buy.

@Lipstickdiva Many jewelers use white topaz to give the look of diamonds when they don’t want to use a fake stone like Diamonique. They think it gives it more value. I don’t like the stone either...looks like diamonds that need a good cleaning. Lol

Hi @Annabellethecat66 . I had way too much jewelry of my own (some inherited from my Dad’s sister who never had children and my Grandmother). When my Mom passed away recently, I inherited hers plus the pieces she had inherited from my Grandmother. I spread it all out on dining room table (except what I knew I wanted to keep for myself) & invited DIL to come look for herself and GDs who may be interested later. She’s a very simple girl and never much jewelry. I sent a pic on my cell to my DD in WA and she wanted a few pieces. I sent them to her to enjoy now. I kept many w/ possibilities of “re-doing” for GDs, sold diamonds and got good $ for gold & platinum settings. There’s no use leaving this stuff to them if they won’t wear it. There are pieces of mine that they’d like & I’ve listed what goes to whom...not in will...just a sheet in my safe. Never list jewelry in will. DH says something about tax related, so just listed separately. BTW, my Mom had her funeral (everything) pre-paid years ago. The prices increased a lot, but they have to stand by the contract they signed with her. All we had to do was sign some papers. Her contract was in their files (funeral home).

I am a JTV fan. I use to get so excited when Evine would have their shows. Evine has beautiful jewelry however since watching JTV I find that you can get beautiful pieces with a lot of good information about the pieces. The silver rings I have are quite substantial and well made. Their Chrome diopside pieces are beautiful.
