I have never seen one in person but was interested. I fell in love with a filigree ring on JTV with 5 small stones. I decided to give it a try.Granted these are very small stones - 5 points each - but they have remarkable sparkle & shine. They are very clear white. After reading some of the negative comments here about this stone I was not sure what to expect. I am pleasantly surprised.

I am not impressed by the setting. It is not finished on the back but on the surface it looks fine.I only paid $112 with tax, s&h all in so it is fine for what I paid.It's pretty, looks good on my hand & is comfortable so I will be keeping it.

I also wanted to add that the moissonite from JTV comes with a guarantee that they won't cloud over or chip or break.

You get what you pay for. It's faux. It's in sterling. None of those imitation "diamonds" are going to fool anyone! Why waste your money? To have people "oh and ah"? Moissonite is an expensive man-made cheap bling! Most people know it's not the real deal. If your lifestyle can't afford the real deal, why would you wear something faux? I've never understood that thinking. Happiness comes from within; not from faux cheap costume rings. Save your money and donate it to a Charity instead . . . it is Christmas!

If this was for an engagement or wedding set, I could understand it if the couple had little money . . . but even then, I'd go for a plan band. Later, if I really wanted a diamond we would save and get the real deal in a quality stone which we could afford.

This is not true IMO. It's obvious to me you've never seen moissanite in person. It's not CZ. It's made of organic material and grown in a lab. Technically, it's real, just not grown in nature.

I have several pieces from very small stones to larger ones and each one looks much better than my diamond wedding set, which we went to a private dealer to source and buy high quality stones.

Diamonds are super overpriced and there is a lot of deception. Moissanite allows buyers to afford a high quality stone that is almost flawless at a fraction of the price. It's sustainable, doesn't incite violence or human rights abuses. It's good for the environment. It's also close on the mohs scale to a diamond so it's a durable stone.

OP, I'm glad you took a chance. I know it will be almost impossible for me to spend a lot of money for a diamond when I know how beautiful moissanite is. It's not even a trade-off because I'm receiving IMO a superior product. Also, IMO there is nothing wrong with sterling silver. Mine are set in gold but silver is a precious metal.

Also, I don't see the reason to be snarky and condescending in your reply.

My grandfather was a jeweler. I have inherited and been gifted some amazing diamonds. So amazing I'm afraid to wear them and they sit in our safety deposit box. Not everyone HAS TO have only the most expensive of everything. Some of us can be very content with what we have, even when it is not expensive.What is the point of buying jewelry? For how it looks. It has no other purpose.If I buy something and I think it's pretty- what difference does it make if it is real or manmade?

I adore the Moissonite I have from JTV. It's a beautiful stone. Diamonds are pretty too. Each to his own.

I wonder if BirkiLady knows that the only reason diamonds are expensive anymore is because the diamond industry doesn't sell what they have, but instead holds them back to inflate the prices ? Also, diamonds are no longer anywhere near the quality they used to be. I have a diamond in my engagement ring that is only 1/2 carat. However, it is flawless and clear white. It was DH's grandmother's then his mom's and now I am very fortunate to own it.Jewelers have seen it on my hand and asked to see it, then offered me as much as $10,000 for a 1/2 carat because you can't buy that good quality of a stone today.

I love my Moissanite from JTV and Evine. I bought the pieces a few years ago and they look like diamonds. I’m very picky about my jewelry and get compliments on my Moissanite pieces. Maybe things have changed.

I chose to replace my original wedding set with moissonite. The jeweler that saw my rings asked me where I found such beautiful set of rings

Moissonite is the same atomic weight as a diamond ,and it has more fire ,and is whiter and i think harder

I have had so many compliments on my rings. I would not even touch a diamond again

Mine were not cheap, but no where the cost of a diamond this size. They are set in white gold, and come from Charles and Calvord, who pioneered the process of making this stone

All my moissanite is also from C&C. My DH just got me their 5 stone anniversary band in August for our 5 year anniversary. All I can say is OMG. I know that this quality, size and beauty in diamonds would cost a fortune. The band is made with a lot of gold. It's much more than I expected. It wasn't cheap either but it's far superior than any other diamond I have. On the cruise the lady at the jewelry store gasped and said, "Wow!".

Moissanite is tad softer than a diamond at around 9.25-9.50; it will last a lifetime. A diamond is a 10.

@BirkiLady. Wow, you're quite the expert on Moissanite. Have you ever even seen one? It's a beautiful, clear sparkly stone that in no way resembles a CZ. The sparkle equals or exceeds that of a diamond. I have one with approx. a 1ct center stone and I've had people spot it from across a room and come over asking to see it. Believe me, they have no idea its not a diamond!

Now, I suggest you go find your inner happiness and quit raining on other's parades.

I have a pair of 2.6 carat TW Moissanite studs set in 14k yellow gold that I picked up during a 50% off sale from JTV. They’re absolutely beautiful and I get compliments on them all the time. My original intent was to use them as travel jewelry and leave my diamonds locked up at home, but I now wear them all the time. I would purchase Moissanite again in a heartbeat.

I love diamonds and have many pieces that were either given to me or I bought myself. I would never put anyone down for wearing Moissanite, CZ's, costume jewelery or anything else they like. I wanted to give Moissanite a try so I just ordered a pair of 1 ct earrings from JTV. I bought my Mom 1/2 cts years ago but she mentioned that it would be nice to have 1 cts. When they come in I'll compair them to my 1 ct diamond earrings and if I don't like them then back they go and my Mom will get real diamonds.

We buy what we like and should not be put down for doing so.

To the original poster, I'm so glad you bought a beautiful ring that you love. Who cares if it's Moissanite, CZ or a diamond. All that matters is if you like it or not.

I love Moissanite!! I have a pair of 1.5 Carat total weight earring studs, set in white gold. No one knows the difference. I have a 3 stone past present future ring totals 2 carats. I pair it with two 1 carat wedding bands that are real diamonds. No one can tell the diference. My husband wanted to buy me a 2 carat moissanite solitare. I said not right now. Oh also I wear them with my real 5 carat tennsi bracelet! NO ONE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE! It's beautiful and wears very well! I would buy from a reputable jeweler. I know Helzburg Diamonds sells Moissanite. A fan here in Houston!!!

I bought a 5 stone anniversary 14K band - moissanite. Each stone represents husband, self, three children, so I call it my 'family' ring. I wanted something besides diamonds -- just over diamonds. Doubt if I'll ever buy another diamond. I like to stay active and travel and this band is the perfect solution for me. Recently bought a necklace with solitary stone. Stone is white zircon gemstone. I love it as much as if it was a diamond. Maybe more. If I could do it again, instead of first diamond engagement ring, I would have a London blue topaz stone surrounded by smaller gemstones.

Moissanite fools diamond testers. That's why they had to create a moissanite tester because even professional jeweler's were being fooled. I saw a clip online or a jeweler being embarrassed because he couldn't tell the difference using a loupe or a diamond tester.

@151949 I've been watching JTV off and on today. What is Moissonite Fire? I have always wanted a moissonite solitare, maybe 2 carats, but it has to be in real gold. JTV has had some beautiful pieces but I have never had good luck with clad jewelry. I have checked the C & C website and it is pricey. I have also talked to a reputable jeweler and he has nothing but good to say about moissonite.
