I have several pieces of moissanite 4 are white and one is canary. I like them and they were a great purchase. Sometimes I buy them already made, sometimes as loose stones and have them set. They look more like diamonds than cz do. The larger the stone the more likely they will have a visable greenish yellow gray tinge.

there are different levels of quality of moissanite...and the "stones" price are based on the level and the size. Yes, it is pricey considering it is not a natural stone. However, if you are interested in building a beautiful engagement ring and don't wish/can't spend the money on an ering and/or if you are committed to buying a nonblood money stone, it can be a wonderful alternative. A platinum band with a premium 2ct stone can cost about 2K...compared to a colorless xxx diamond at about 30K. Just depends on you values and priorities.

I have some from before the patent expired (NOT purchased from JTV, however) and they are lovely stones. I bought two 5mm stones that I set in 14k gold stud findings. I can put them next to my diamonds and you'd never know the different.

The difference between Moissanite and CZ is just monumental. Moissanite looks like diamonds and CZs look like glass.

I was in a jewelry store one time with my Moissanite studs on and a little solitaire 1ct necklace, as they went together really well. I got compliments on my diamond earrings from the employees when they cleaned my jewelry for me. kachaw! hehe

I ordered a few different styles of Moissanite from JTV....both rings were in silver yet I felt VERY expensive....$400 to $600. The cushion main stone was ok but the side tiny stones were dull had zero sparkle....and they were rough between fingers. The other was a invisible set ring...with a strange band that didn't work at all with the main ring....again in sterling. No sparkle to my eye on this one at all....hated it on sight. And finally the most expensive one was a retangular cut with trillion side stones...I thought for sure this one would be a knock out. But for some reason the main stone had a slight yellowish tint...just barely there but for $600 it shouldn't have any yellow to it. The whole ring just looked fake to my eye...they all did. No better then the CZ's I have.

I also ordered one from Evine....Judy Crowell...had 3 smaller stones in it...sterling. Now these stones were bright....white...had great cutting to my eye. I just didn't like that obivious sterling silver mounting made it look fake! so back it went.

I then tried a white gold moissanite ring....thru Khol's....had a 30% off coupon....lovely ring....but very very very light weight for the money ($1000) and I swear the moissanite in it looked no better then CZ's I have! Love Kohl's so easy to return went right back to a local store and done...easy.

There must be quality differences for sure....and maybe some of the larger solitare styles won't cut mustard....but these weren't huge stones either.

Good luck to you....I have come to think that a gold setting is best if I am going to be paying that much money. Not sure if moissanite resale value is there...but mostly it's about the metal in that area.

Finally got my ring and I have to say it is a sparkler. It is a 5 band stone band. TCW.80 although the stones are small they have a destinctive sparkle. I like it and it is comfortable enough to be an everyday ring. I think when they have another moissanite show I will probably get a bigger piece. Stones are clear no dullness at all. The stones show a lot of color. The ring is substantial. Has a little bit of weight to it I Like the bar setting. .Looks like it is made well. We shall see.
