Just had a Technibond slide chain break in two.

A couple months ago I bought a really pretty, longer, adjustable Technibond chain. I wore it once and loved it. I went to take it out to try on with a pendant and it was completely broken through the chain, which is sort of a sparkly snake chain...no links...just one long piece of gold over silver wire. I am bummed. I have never had any problems like this happen before. I checked out HSN to see if there was any warranty on a Technibond; now part of Sevilla Silver. I didn't find anything but did notice that HSN lets you pay for extended jewelry repairs for items up to two years old.

@Mindy D I used to buy more jewelry from HSN but I got nervous when they offered the warranty with EVERYTHING! I sometimes buy it if the jewelry is over $200, but it's rare. I did recently purchase Rarities by Carol Brodie, a ring but it was too tight so I have to send it back.

Just recently I returned something to HSN and evidently, it was not within the time frame (I don't even remember what the heck it was), but I hear when I call, "Do you want to use your expendable cash?" I'm like, "What?" So I talked to the operator and she said I had almost $100 in expendable cash. Of course it was burning a hole so I used it on the above ring and now I hope I get it put back on my account!

Funny story: OK, so once I sent back some boots and I got the things back from HSN! I was infuriated...so angry. So I called them. She said, "Miss Annabelle. Go back and get your ticket that came with the boots". I said, "I have it right here and it says, "April 2014", she said, "Miss Annabelle, this is April 2015. We can't refund something that is one year old!". I'd found them with all of the other 'stuff' I'd ordered and not sent back. I was embarrassed. I gave them to Goodwill.....and that is what a dufus I am!

Technibond used to be guaranteed by the manufacturer. Did you save your packing material to see if there is a free repair service? I remember sending a chain back to them that I had worn for years, but I have no idea if they still do this. (I haven't bought anything from them recently.)

That is how I remember it. I haven't looked for my packing slip yet. HSN certainly makes no mention of this now. Thanks for the tip. I'll look around and see if I can find the slip. I think Technibond was offered from a different vendor and Sevilla Silver bought the rights to the name and the process.

I pulled a Technibond bracelet out of a drawer about seven years after I had bought it and it had completely discolored!

I threw that mess away.

I am laughing my ...off. I have always avoided returns because I'm too lazy to do them. Once, I ordered a pink skirt from Suzanne Summers. It arrived inside the sealed, clear inner bag with a giant brownish shoe print on the fabric. I didn't even send this back, that's how lazy I was about returns. I'm still wondering how anyone could have packed this for shipping and not have seen this. It looked like a man's shoe print. I think we all have done funny stories to tell.
