I have 100 facet leverback earrings and love them. I get compliments when I wear them. I can't remember what size they are, but they are believable. My daughter loved them so much that I gave her a pair.

I can't really address a ring because I don't have any Diamonique rings.

I hope you find something you like.

Hello all,

Not a regular buyer of Diamonique so I would value your opinions. Unfortunately due to some recent hand trauma I had to have my wedding set cut off in the ER. The delicate engagement ring setting was destroyed (the ring split in two pieces). So eventually I may be getting a new setting etc. but for now shopping for a Diamonique engagement ring. I have a really nice diamond anniversary band ring that can work as a wedding ring.

My question is what do you think of the 100 facet cuts? Do they live up to the hype or do you prefer the usual more traditional Diamonique cuts? I am looking to purchase a round 2 carat solitaire if that helps.Thank you in advance!

Wow, it has been so long since I have purchased anything diamonique, but I do have a few nice things from many years ago.

I remember when the 100 facet just came out I ordered a pair of Tacori earrings and just never warmed up to them. They just look fake to me. While there are some diamond brands out there who do the cut, I never really see them and so the comparison is always to the traditional cut.

If you are getting something large and sparkly and don't care if it looks like a diamond, I say go for it. If you want it to look more realistic, I found that the smaller, round, traditional shape is really hard to tell from the real deal.

Hope you get your old ring fixed soon. The setting, if it is delicate, should not cost that much more than a piece of diamonque.

Thank you for the advice.....I will probably pick a few (not going to sweat the S/H and return charges) and match them up against my diamond band ring. The most realistic and shiniest wins!

May need to size down to a 1 carat for realism.

Thank you everyone! I always learn so much on these forums. Everyone is so generous with their time and advice. I am very curious about the 100 facet stone so I am going to give it a try in a few styles and sizes. The settings over at JTV are pretty cool too-

It is going to take a while for my left hand ring finger and hand to recover. But it is looking better every day so in a couple of weeks I should be back to normal!

The bright spot is I get to try out some engagement rings....its been 30 years and I never picked out my first one (surprise from my husband).

Now I can "afford" to get a bigger "diamond "too!

I have lots of Diamonique in both cuts. I prefer the traditional cut. It looks more geniuine to me. But if I like a piece and it's only available in the 100 facet, it's not a deal breaker.

I love the 100 facet DMQ things. IMO it keeps the eye from looking to deeply into the stone which can sometimes be a giveaway that a stone is not genuine. It also sparkles like crazy. I buy both, but prefer the 100 facet.

Thank you everyone! Looking over the customer reviews it seems like the quality of the stones might vary within the same item number....some reviewers are entranced with the fire others say their stones look like glass with no sparkle. So possibly luck of the draw plays a role here too! As I was looking for a 2 carat solitaire, I was limted to the 100 facet cut- could not find one in white gold/sterling that was a regular cut but I will keep my eyes open.

The other theme seems to be that the quality of the Diamonique in general was better back in the day.

As a way of saying "thank you" to everyone who gave me advice, I wanted to give an update on my ring choice. I ended up with a simple one carat solitaire as some advised rather than the 2 carat I thought I wanted. The smaller stone looked much better with my diamond anniversary band and is more believable. Not many women in my area wear large diamonds- in fact the one carat is pretty big for around here!

I wanted an extremely simple style in a white gold setting but obviously did not want to spend a bundle because I want to save the $$ to get my original diamonds re-set. I tried some QVC rings but they did not have what I wanted in a 1 carat size. Much to my surprise, I found what i wanted at Wal$$rt. I could not believe it but for $90 I got a very pretty stone set in 10K white gold basic engagement band. Completely believable and looks pretty good next to my real diamonds. My finger is still healing so I will need to get it resized in the future but the store does it for free if you re-size during the first year of ownership. Not bad.

So got exactly what I wanted for not much $$. Good deal. Thank you everyone!
