Anyone a fanatic about this stone like I am? I LOVE IT! Oh my goodness. I have just decided to check it out and I'm hooked. Beautiful natural stones. Just purchased bracelet, pendant, two rings and earrings.

They have the best black spinel jewelry on Evine. Last year they showed a ton of it but you don't see as much this year. You're a little late as it has already peaked in popularity and they've moved on, making neon apatite the "stone of the year". I got some beautiful pieces; tennis bracelet and tennis necklace, a gorgeous ring, several sets of earrings.

@itiswhatitis, I'm glad that you made this discovery and like it so much. Black spinel is a beautiful stone - it is said that it sparkles in low light and a black diamond does not. So, black spinel is a favorite for evening wear.

It sounds like you are a person with discerning taste ... You purchase what you like & not what is "trending".

Enjoy wearing your pieces and I hope you continue discovering other stones - whether they are trending or not.

edited to add: The Q has about 202 items in/with black spinel and there are only 4 in neon apatite & 1 "as is".

@mzlg, Yasss girl. I got my pieces in Sterling and I'm so pleased. They sparkle like crazy. For a long time, I was like "spinel?" Big deal! They are beautiful stones. Well where I bought mine from they'res still a good bit of inventory in rings, pendants and earrings. I will be buying more in the near future.

Yes. Chuck Clemency had a lot of Black Spinel. Didn't buy it from him as he described his as being "coated." No need to coat Black spinel.

@mzlg Yes, QVC is always a day late and a dollar short in recognizing jewelry trends. Everyone in the world had bought drusy before they ever showed one piece. When spinel was hot last year, they had none. I'm sure they'll blossom out in apatite about this time next year. Then they wonder why their jewelry sales are off. It's because everyone who wanted it bought it elsewhere before they every showed it.

I agree with another poster, "Black Spinel" has been around for a good 3 even 4 years...That is how long ago I purchased the pieces that I personally own.

I would love to see QVC do more black spinel.....they didn't do much when it was popular....

I absolutely love it. This gives me a chance to wear black, black apparel just makes me look dead. Every time I buy something black I regret it.

I am really confused as to Q being late on black Spinel. I bought tennis necklace, Bracelets, earrings etc a few years ago on QVC. Antonella used to be the hostess and I love everything I bought.

I'm sure most of you know about JTV. My nephew asked for some help with buying his fiance a different kind of ring as a gift. We looked at all kinds of rings but when we saw a black spinal ring, he said, that's what I'm looking for! I know the ring is over 5 cts and he only paid about $35 for it. We couldn't believe how pretty it was when it arrived. She loves her ring and wears it everyday on he right hand. They have a lot of sales on that channel and a big selection of black spinal.

So beautiful and yet, I can not get into it. It reminds me of hematite and I inherited a boat-load of the stuff from my grandmother (born in the late 1800's) who received it from her mother (born in the mid 1800's); some of it is really gaudy/over the top and so... it's just not a stone I look at.

The pieces shown here are simplistic in their design and so classic; just lovely. Enjoy them!

If I remember correctly, QVC was obsessed with setting BS in Bronzo. A deal breaker for me.

I'd love a ring set in sterling like the one pictured. I love sparkly stones.

Gee, those stones look so sparkly, I could love them. Like another poster, I always thought that since I have onyx, why buy spinel? but, I'm seeing there is a big differdence. Since I do wear black quite a bit, it would make sense to have a few pieces.

You guys are encouraging my bad habits!
