They appear "dirty" to me. So many low or ankle boots offer this in any suede type material. Not a fan.

Often the toe of boots or back of heels are the most likely places that get damaged first so the burnished toe on leather boots may help to camouflage accidental scratches .

I have several pairs burnished toe boots all from Earth Orgins from several years ago. They camouflage the toes which get knocked about, especially when driving.
EO has changed since I purchased mine.

Burnishing makes a shoe look worn to me. I don't care for the look. I don't want my new shoes to look worn out.

I don't care for burnished toes in leather, suede, or faux material on boots or any footwear for that matter.

I have a pair that I wear for casual wear with jeans. I haven't worn them for professional or dressy attire. Its a different look for me, but I like it occasionally.
