Thanks everyone. i really don't have any feet problems. I wear other shoes without problem, so it was strange when the Skechers started hurting my feet. And it's not a pain like arch pain. It's more like their too tight, and that's even the ones I can tie so I can loosen them up.

The orthotics I have are due to a back issue I was having which mostly affected my skating and the sports chiro I went to had them made for me. Prior to that, he had me go to Fleet Feet, not to have them evaluate me or anything. He just wanted me to get some Montrails to try out. I still have those in my yard work shoes. I was going to get some more, but I read they were no longer the same after they got bought out. I can't afford to replace the orthotics he had made.

I'm still looking to wear what I consider a more fashionable sneaker, so looks are important. However, what I consider to be fashionable in a sneaker currently is not. I did pick up anothr pair of slip-on Skechers which, when I tried them on, immediately felt better than the old ones I was wearing, so I'm hopeful.

I've worn mostly only Skechers sneakers for a few years now. However, they have started to hurt my feet even with my fit to my feet orthotics in them. So, the other day I bought a pair of Asics sneakers.

Just wondering how people felt about thses sneakers. I haven't worn them out to see how they feel over time yet. That is my problem with the Skechers. After an hour or two they make my feet ache.

I love the idea of Skechers and the hands off thing but they don't seem to work for me. I have worn the Asics and think they are very good.

I had a stress fracture in my foot. The doctor told me not to wear sketchers, they offer no support and are more of a fashion shoe. Both doctors reccomended Brooks. I love them! I have a slight orthotic I put in. I have one pair I wear in the house all day and one pair to wear out.

I don't have any Asics, because they don't fit my foot correctly, but what you might consider doing is going to a nearby Fleet Feet shoe store. They will measure your feet and have you walk on a special pad they have to see your pronation and stride. Then they can recommend different brands for you to try based on the information from the machine and your measurements.

The best thing is, is that after you get them home and wear them for a day or two, if they hurt your feet or don't feel quite right, you can return them for a full refund and start again trying to find the right shoe. Their shoes are pricey but are of the highest quality. After you find the perfect shoe, you can then watch for it to go on sale there or elsewhere if you want to buy an additional pair (or two). As an aside, Saucony fits my feet the best, while Asics do fit my husband's feet--all determined at Fleet Feet.

They changed a lot when the Kayano 29-30-31-32 came out so I've been struggling to find another shoe.

I recently tried on a pair of ON shoes. It's like I found a new best friend. The arch is perfect. No break-in time. They are so comfortable!!!!

The Hoka Giovata is outstanding for long walking too.

The support is wonderful.

I used to wear Skechers and noticed that support was lacking with the last few pairs I had purchased. I walk 4-5 miles every day and noticed that the soles were wearing out more quickly than before.

Just my experience.

Skechers has some cute styles that I still wear for "fashion" rather than function.

I never could wear Sketchers. Just no support and once while in the yard a sticker from a branch went right through the sole. I now wear Orthoheel or ON.

I don't really wear tennis shoes much and when I get a pair, they have to have the mesh uppers. Otherwise, a tennis shoe is like wearing a couple of bricks on my size 11 foot.

Years ago, I owned a couple of Sketchers but I always thought they fit was really off so I never considered them after that. My current shoes are Nike with the mesh upper. I've heard great things about Brooks and Hoka shoes so would probably look into those two the next time I consider getting new tennis shoes.
