I had plantar fasciitis shortly after I retired. While I don't have it anymore, I have to wear shoes that provide good arch support or my foot starts aching again. I've been wearing Brooks walking shoes since Ryka changed to the foam-type footbed. I can't remember where I got the first pair, but I usually order them online now. They're very comfortable and provide good arch support.

I ordered a pair of Brooks walking shoes for DH last week from the Brooks website. In addition to bad hammertoes, he takes a 4E width and has drop foot, which causes him to fall. The price on the Brooks website was 5 cents more than Amazon and Zappos (they didn't have the width he needs). Brooks has free shipping and free return shipping. The best part is that they have a 90-day trial period where you can wear the shoes for 90 days to make sure they fit you well. That was the clincher for ordering DH's shoes, given his foot problems. He wanted white for wearing with shorts in the warm weather. If these work well, I'll order a black pair for wearing as dress shoes.

I wish qvc carried Brooks, Hoka, NewBalance, ASICS which are what podiatrists recommend for plantar fasciitis. They are also worn by runners so they are popular. Price point is high though at least on the Brooks and Hokas but there is a market for them.
I was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis after waking up one day with terrible pain in my left heel. Podiatrist told me I had flat feet too, which I never knew. I went to a physical store to try on the sneaker brands he recommended and found Brooks gave me the most comfort. Hoka worked too but they had more of a rocker bottom which felt odd so I went with Brooks.

I have Revitalign and Vionic so once my heel pain settles down they will probably be okay with orthotic inserts. He said the Vionic inserts are good but he showed me the ones he carries and they were definitely firmer in the arch area.
I love shoes and have so many I may not be able to wear now I love the stretchable fabric of the Brooks which help in the toe area as I have arthritis in my toes. The joys of being a senior, ugh!

I haven't worn Brooks since I was in high school. Although I would love for QVC to branch out and offer more brands, I believe these particular shoe brands would still be higher than I can find elsewhere. But, I would like to see them offered then I would have to wait for an As Is pair to get the price I am willing to pay.

Me too. I love Brooks best of all the many brands I've tried, but the others you mentioned are great too.

But, I get my Brooks anyway at a local Runner's Store where the sales help are all fitness/runners who really know how to fit your foot and advise what sneaker is best for you. I think they carry Hokas too, which I only learned about last year when I had Plantar Fascitis...I want to look into them too.

I did recently get two pairs at Marshall's...a cute Tretorn pair, and a chunky (like Hoka style) comfort one from Puma...so for now I'm ok, but need new Brooks at some point too. Nothing fits, feels like that on me..fits my flat, narrow foot well...the "Dyad" style.

@Catch71 Agree with you...of all Brooks were, by far, the best investment for me...lasted the longest too.

I bought a pair of Brooks at TJM or Marshalls-can't remember which. They are comfortable but the heel is thick. When I exercise in them,I have to remember to pick up my feet.I almost feel like I am wearing heels. I save them for vacations since they are comfortable. The pair I bought almost seem like a better running shoe than walking. I'm not a runner but I do cardio/circuit at the gym.

My favorites are ASICS. I have 2 pairs of the Contend Gel 8 and love them. Around $50 on Amazon. They fit my feet perfectly since I have a bunion and crooked little toe on my left foot. The toe box is perfect.I use them exclusively for exercise but imagine they would be excellent walking sneaks.
