I finished work early today so I ran by Dillard's.

You all know the problems with the small red flo AND the AS IS small red flo. I had decided I wasn't suppose to have that bag. I was wrong. Right in front of the bag dept was a sale table and THERE SHE WAS!! A BEAUTIFUL small red flo!!!

I got her for $231. I paid $230 for the AS IS including shipping from the Q.

My long time SA was ringing me up and I said "can I ask you a question. Out of all the dooneys here there is only one that has a green dot on the tag. What does the green dot mean"

She said without any hesitation "those are outlet bags. All the retailers buy regular stock and outlet stock and the outlet stock is bought at deeper discounts". I said "so they wouldn't be considered 1st quality". She said that's right. We both went over to the fuchsia flo and on first glance, we couldn't see anything wrong with it but looking closer, you could see where the leather strapping that runs up the front of the bag was sewn on, the leather of the body had very small puckers. She said what they get is usually something that most wouldn't notice. It could be uneven stitching, inconsistency in the leather etc.

She told me that Coach does it too. They don't mark the tags of their bags but they are marked on the manifest with an M by the style # of the bags that are outlet bags.

That fuchsia flo was beautiful and I had to look VERY close to find it. To me, it didn't hurt the bag at all, but I guess Dooney does have very strict quality control standards.

So a green dot could be something very tiny that you may never see, to something major like the new red flo I got from the Q.

The red flo from Dillards is just a bit darker red. It has more warmth to the color. Also the leather is perfectly smooth front, back, bottom and both sides. AND NO GREEN DOT. LOL!

It all came to a good ending. I guess I was right, something was telling me not to buy that bag from the Q. Cause I was going to get a better one AND for the same price! YIPPEE!!
