Shoe Shopping

With all the shoe shows on QVC recently, I got antsy about buying some new shoes ....

This afternoon I took out the big basket from the bottom of the closet where I had stored all my summer shoes. I don't think I need to buy any new shoes.

When I feel like I need some shoe shopping, I go to Zulily and save 50%. Or more.

I freely admit that I have a Sandal obsession, but I honestly forgot that I bought some of my favorite Born sandals on sale at the end of last summer. It was a nice surprise !

I'm set! I didn't like the default pair I bought last year, so I consigned them. When I wanted to buy a red Dansko sandal in early February, no less, my store had sold the entire crate in four weeks!!! I finally got the same style for less elsewhere which was amazing on a new style!

I'm in the same position ... bought several pairs on sale at the end of last summer. I have a bunch of "never worn" shoes and sandals.

So because I photograph my shoes as well as my clothes I took a look at my casual sandal purchases in the past year. Most were Skechers including a pair of cross band slides, 2 pair of Skechers flip flops, and a pair of D'Lite Metro Vibe slide sandals. I also got a pair of B.O.C. Boyle sandals and a pair of BZees Slingback sandals last summer. They all are flat or slightly inclined and all could be considered comfortable. All but one were bought after trying them on in a bricks and mortar store and the only pair I bought online was to buy a size down of a pair I already owned that were too big.

It does seem about this time of year that sandal selection is the best because by the time that summer rolls around the selection is picked over. I wore my Skechers D'Lite sandals in Australia this past March and April and they were just right for the summer weather there.

@TY. I remember you and I having a Bzee conversation last summer. We both bought similar shoes. I didn't know you'd gone to Australia. How wonderful and exciting. I get a news feed with excerpts from Australian newspapers and all they talk about is their venomous snakes, who and what got bitten and all about their creepy insects and other reptiles.

Yes, my daughter is in Australia currently so we went there for a vacation. We visited Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne. It's a beautiful country with lots of turquoise beaches. We went in March and April and it was still very summery weather there as the latitude makes their weather similar to Florida or southern California. Sydney was humid though.

I can understand why Australians are so outdoorsy and health conscience given the beautiful climate where we were. There were lots of outdoor seating areas at restaurants and cafes all over. Australia is expensive though, eating out is expensive and so are cosmetics.

A pair of Skecher flip flops like what I paid for in the U.S for $35 or $45 would cost $79 AUD at the Skechers outlet store we went to in Melbourne.

I was watching a Naot shoe show yesterday and Antonella was hosting. She was saying that QVC has a 30 day return policy so you can wear the shoes for a month with your foot print in it and if you don't like it return it. I can see saying about the 30 day return policy but not stating wear it for 30 days and return it. I'm sure upper management wasn't happy with that statement. I would never wear a shoe for 30 days and return it.
