Frye Boots

Saw the airing of Frye early this AM. I thought they looked odd on everyone. Maybe it's because they were all wearing them with dresses and bare legs. Personally I dislike that look of an ankle boot with a bare leg. The fit of them looked very narrow and odd shaped toes.

@makena ITA. I miss my old Frye Boots from the seventies! Loved them, and wish I still had them.

@roxxy1 I had a pair of Fye cowboy boots in the early or mid 70s. I still remember saving up for them!

@roxxy1 I remember what they looked like...but I can't remember how much they cost me. I just remember that they were the most expensive boots I had ever purchased for myself up to that point. I was a broke 20 something and was so proud of my boots!

Yes the times sure have changed...now if you want to talk about the prices of concert tickets from back then & today I can remember paying just a few dollars for big name groups...BIG difference from today!

@haddon9 I remember what mine looked like. They were definitely tall, and like an orangey brown with a square toe. I klomped around everywhere in them.

That brings back memories, my husband bought me Frye boots I just had to have in 1975 and indeed they cost 79.00. They were tan high boots with western type stitching on them. As much as I loved the leather and the look of them they were not comfortable.

i remember Frye boots from my college days, always wanted a pair buy they were to expensive for me. Fast forward 37 years, I can afford them but they aren't my style.

i have several pairs of frye boots. they’re definitely not the most comfortable footwear. they’re heavy and the insoles aren’t padded. some of the designs are really cool, and the ones i buy are the distressed variety. i don’t think you can wear them bare legged though. the interior of the shaft can be scratchy and hurt your calves. i think they’re modeled bare legged just to show off the boots.

I have those exact boots. I wore them twice. They are like brand new in a box. Very uncomfortable.

I also had Frye boots in the 70's and the prices were a lot lower. Times have changed. QVC does not have much of a collection though.

I loved my Frye boots. I still have mine which I purchased in probably 74 or 75. I think I paid $75 or $80 for them. I was so nervous the first time I wore them a Levi skirt or dress.
