I find that Clarks shoes are hit and miss for me as I had to return 2 different pairs of Clarks sandals from 2 different retailers as neither pair fit very well. The first pair the velcro edges dug into the top of one foot as the strap wasn't adjustable. The second pair the back strap's velcro edges dug into the back of my ankles.

I have better luck trying on shoes in bricks and mortar stores. I have a nice pair of Clarks Preslet Grove clogs that I bought at the end of January. And the time before that was last September when I bought a nice pair of Helio Jet sandals with buckle and not a velcro strap.

Last week I ordered a pair of Clarks Leisa Sadie Clogs from Zappos in 6-1/2 wide. Received them yesterday - and my feet were falling out of them --- and I was slipping and sliding on my tile floor.

I called Zappos and told them about the problem and the female said they're making the bottom of Clarks shoes with plastic --- NOT RUBBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW.

I had a feeling they wouldn't work out - that's why I bought thru Zappos - free shipping both ways - and today I dropped them off at UPS.

End of my shoe buying - fortunately I already have too many shoes.

Don't u love when the Clarks reps remind us every time --- how Clarks shoes were made in England over 100 years ago. They forget to say, "Clarks are now made from cheap plastic in Asia - and they'll fall off ur feet"

Several years ago I had 10-12 pairs od Clarks clogs, sandals, wedges. One day I was shopping and noticed my clog was feeling "loose" on my foot. I took the shoe off and discovered the whole top of the clog had come loose from the sole of the shoe. I checked the other one, and it too came apart as the first one did. Fortunately I keep an extra pair of shoes in my car, so I changed into them and continued shopping. When I got home, I got all my Clarks shoes out and pulled on them. EVERY single pair came apart! These were shoes from the shoe store, not ordered on line. I was shocked.....and even went on line at QVC to see if anyone else was having this problem. They all totally disintegrated within days of each other. Later I was wearing a pair of sandal wedges to church. I noticed this white flakey mess following my feet around. Wherever I stepped, I left a little track of this. When I checked my shoes, I found the wedge was collapsing,,,again disintegrating as I walked along. I decided Clarks shoes are absolutely NOT what they used to be. None of the shoes was more than 3 years old. I have a lot of shoes, so I didn't wear them out. No more Clarks for me until they fix the quality!!

I still have 6 pairs left. The defective shoes were in perfect condition. I read that they used glue to keep the leather tops attached to the sole --- weren't sewn.

I miss the old Clarks clogs with the Springer bottoms that used to have the footbeds lined with REAL SUEDE. They were so comfortable with bare feet and breathable. I think Clarks' objective is to make their shoes more affordable for the masses. It seems that the cost of leather and materials has increased tremendously. I can't believe the prices of shoes, no matter what brand they are, that are made with quality materials! I can't stomach $100 to $150 for a pair of shoes. So disappointing.

I have the Clarks Preslet Grove clogs that I bought at Winners in Canada this past winter and they've been very comfortable and I've actually worn them quite a bit this year. But as I said upthread that Clarks shoe fit is hit and miss with me. I've tried on the Leisa clog that has a flatter sole and the shoe is too narrow for my foot.

The Preslet Grove shoe looks like this below, mine is the black clog with the charcoal gray faux fur that you can see on the QVC page of this shoe. The below link is for the "as is" version.

A291893

Clarks Leather Clogs With Faux Fur Collar - Preslet Grove

http://www.qvc.com/%22As-Is%22-Clarks-Leather-Clogs-With-Faux-Fur-Collar---Preslet-Grove.product.A291893.html

I also want to add that I have also experienced a pair of Clarks shoes that were starting to fall apart and they weren't very old. They were the athletic bungee cord black and coral slip on shoe called Haley Cortland. Last year the stitching on the outside vamp on the right shoe started to unravel. I hand stitched a piece of fabric back on where it was unravelling. But today the left shoe was digging into my foot while I was at Starbucks and I ended up going home to get another pair of shoes. The left shoe's tongue was coming unglued inside and the material was starting to curl and dig into the top of my left foot. Those shoes were donated immediately. These shoes weren't worn much and were only about 4 years old.

I also donated an almost unworn pair of Nike lace up athletic shoes that were 7 years old as the heels are now too loose so the shoes slip on the heel when I walk.
