There is a pad you cut to size called Moleskin Plus that Dr. Scholl's sells. I have purchased this before and it goes on your skin not the shoe. It is a good size for using several times. It has a type of stickiness that stays where you put it but comes off easily when you need to take it off. It is awesome and saved my heels many times. I just pulled a package out of drawer to check. I have had it a long time so hopefully they still make it. I hope this helps.

I used to always have a "break in" new shoes. Still do occasionally. I'd wear them around the house for a week or so with band-aids on my heels until they soften and limber up. With some wear, they should be okay.

Also make sure you wear socks made of Nylon, don't wear cotton. Cotton is notorius for causing blisters. I am a walker and I walk 10 miles everyday. I change my shoes out every 3 months.

This has been a life-long problem of mine and the thing that works best for me is wearing two pairs of socks - for instance, a thin trouser sock with a more beefy sock on top of it. Do this until they are broken in. It really works.

I bought Dr. Scholls DreamWalk Rub Relief Strips and they have helped me tremendously. They can help with shoes that rub but also add a little buffer if you have shoes that slip up and down on your heel (hate that!).

Also if you use something to raise up the heel a little that will help lift up your heel.

The website I posted tells you about all of the different kinds of appliances you can purchase to soften (rubber, etc) the heel. The each fit around the leather top part of the heel. They all only cost a few dollars and are well worth it.

I hope you will click on it.

I think the issue is that the shoe is the wrong size for you. Too large or too wide, perhaps? There are readymade products that stick to the inside of the back of the shoe for such cases (instead of a band-aid on your heel, it is cushioning that sticks to the shoe itself), but I have never needed them, and I wear Sperry boat shoes all summer.

Without socks, I get blisters on my toes and/or heels. A couple of things help me. One is wearing little footies. I found a style on Amazon that has sort of a gripper-sticky area that helps them from crawling. They are just the right demensions so they dont show in a loafer and some have a little lace trim. Until I found these the little footie liners would just pull down from the heel area and be of no use.

The second thing that has helped is using stick deodorant and rub on the areas that seem to be tender and prone to blisters.

Thanks to all for your comments .......... the shoes fit, it is the heel of the shoe that comes up higher on my foot heel and rubs my heel! I was bad in not wearing socks, but it is still warm in our area, the shoe is a combination of canvas and leather, and this part is canvas and I guess it is the problem, but I will keep trying, I am determined to wear these shoes, LOL!

Bandaids don't stick very well (as you know!), but I have pretty good luck when I need a "barrier" on the heel of a shoe with the plastic type of medical tape. It is clear, so doesn't look unsightly, and seems to stick to my heel pretty well. I think some of us just have tender feet -- it doesn't necessarily have to do with wearing the wrong size shoes!

@Hooty If I'm not wearing socks like w/ ballet flats, I put Vaseline on the back of my heels which gives the shoe some "slide". When socks are needed, I've taken the shoes to the shoemaker & had them put on the stretcher. They don't have to be stretched wider or longer. He told me he wets the leather fon the heel irst and allows it to dry slowly to become softer. Don't think I'd try this myself. Leave it to a professional.
