Yes, I will try European sized shoes and the sizing can be off and the sizing charts can be wong too. I usually wear a size 8-8.5 shoe or a 39 and sometimes. 39.5. I have to try them on as some brands run narrow too.

I don't know where the Q gets its European conversion sizes...

I'm watching the presentation for the Alegria Leather Mary Janes (A258222) and it shows that a size 41 is a size 11 (!!) and a 42 is a size 12.

I wear a solid size 11 and I have needed a 43 in pretty much all European size shoes I have bought over the past 20 years. I can do a 42 if it is a sandal and I'm not wearing socks. Maybe it is the brand? I know that different brands run a little small or large (for example, sketchers size 11 are too big on me), but this is a pretty big variance. In a curosry google search, it does show that a US size 11 corresponds to Euro sizes 42 or 43 depending on the website.

How have you noticed your recommended European size compares to what you wear in US size?

I've noticed that European sizing differs with the brand I wear. I've worn size 38 in Birkenstocks (both sandals, and closed toe shoes) for years. They consider that a 7-7 1/2. I wear a perfect size 8 in US sizes. I got a size 38 in a Finn Comfort style and it was too small. I got a size 38 in an Alegria clog and full shoe and they both fit perfectly. They consider 38 to be 8-8 1/2. Ugg considers size 8 to be European 39. Go figure.

I much prefer US sizing because of the half sizes. I find them to be more accurate.

I wear a size 8, sometimes 8 1/2. In European sizes I am a 39. There are too many incorrect charts out there. I learned the hard way that when European-sized shoes are converted to American sizes, I should not place an order. Beautifeel shoes fit me perfectly in a size 39 but on one of the websites I was looking at, they converted 39 to size 9....wrong!

Interesting--in my post above I put that the sizing on the Q for size 11 was a 41. that's what it says on the Q app, I'm looking at it right now. but then when I go to that item on my laptop, on the website, it says that a size 11 is a 42! talk about confusing.

Yes, I agree @geezerette I will not buy European shoes online, I need to try them on.

I've only bought one pair of shoes with foreign sizing (Spring Step). The problem I have is that sometimes they put a whole and a half size together with one size when they're describing the conversion into American sizes. Then I don't know which size to get. I really don't understand why this isn't a problem for the Europeans as well. It doesn't seem as if you would get a good fit this way.

i wear a 10 1/2 which is NEVER offered when half sizes are offered so it seems the 10 wide is a closer fit.

For me in Birkenstocks I always wear a 42.

@tantalum I am a true size 11M, not a 10 1/2 or a bit larger. I have about 15 pairs of Alegrias, mostly purchased from the discount side of their website and a few from Q and other sources. Every single pair is a size 42, and there isn't an ill-fitting pair in the group. They are consistent and fit perfectly.

I don't know why this company even uses European sizing except maybe they think it's chic. They originated in California.

I noticed that within the Alegria line, that there is a variation in sizing. Having bought 3 pairs of them through another vender, I know I take a size 38 (7 1/2 through 8). But on some styles on the Q, I would have to figure out if I want a 37 or 38. So even though the price may be bextter and on EP, I won't order from QVC. Frustrating.
