I don't remember ever hearing why any shipping charge is chosen - not here at QVC nor anywhere else. Same with a price. I have no idea how any companies decide what price they will charge.

I know only one thing - I know pretty much what I'm willing to pay. For me that works with clothes or boots or even cars or a house.. I just care more about what, not why.

Shipping Charge question

Why is it that some boots ship for $5 and some ship for $11? I know boots are expensive to ship and I'm comparing apples to apples meaning both are ankle boots, and the s/h is vastly different. Just curious? I think I'd prefer a flat rate similar to what they do for clothing and beauty (although I appreciate it wouldn't be $3) as it is definitely a deterrent to making a purchase, at least for me.

I have noticed that while they may be charging up to $11 for shipping they are frequently reducing the price so that net-net it is the same as paying full price with free shipping.

What I don't understand is how and why it costs (most times) $3.00 to ship to us but it's still $6.95 to use the prepaid label to return any item. And we still don't get any of the s/h back anymore at any rate. Call me stupid, but I will never understand this.

ANd yeah, when all of a sudden any given item costs more - sometimes a LOT more than $3.00 to get whatever, and I still choose to return for whatever reason because I don't LOVE it, I'm still losing MONEY.

I continue to find it mind boggling for many stores online & B&M to sell exactly the same products for different prices. How & why does this happen? I can see something I like and want and plan to buy, check a number of other places and find it priced differently at every one of them. And if I find it elsewhere for less, I can also buy it with no tax and no s/h.

Again, I'll never understand this.
