I live in the South, and I see ankle boots year round. Lately I've seen several peep toe booties.

It is OK but I cannot imagine wearing any "boots' in 100 degree weather. Alaska maybe!! Honestly, if I saw someone wearing boots in this heat, I would think they were nuts!!

I haven't seen anyone around here wearing them this summer. I think of them as a fall/winter item.

Nuts is right! And I have seen young women wearing "ugg" type fur lined boots......during the summer......in Phoenix

I wouldn't think of wearing boots in summer. When would I wear my cute sandals? There are no rules in fashion anymore so if wearing boots makes you happy, wear them.

You can wear a hooded snow parka all year long, if you want to. I have seen women in ankle boots on 87 degree days.....they look silly to me. Like fashion victims. I'd save the ankle boots until after at least mid September when we've seen the last of 90 degree days.

I too am in Arizona where the high was around 107 give or that a few and just today I saw a teenager wearing knee high leather boots and short shorts.

Many women and girls in hot L.A., especially the Hollywood area, do.

There's been pics of celebs and others online for years.

They'd personally be too hot for me, but I like the look with most things.

Except for the moon boot -type Uggs.

Do whatever feels right to YOU, and which you totally enjoy. 8)

Only if it is okay to wear sandals all year long. Obviously you can do what you want, but I agree with Katchina624, I enjoy wearing all of my cute sandals in the summer. I live in the northeast where boots are worn three seasons per year.

In summer, I wear sandals when it's sunny and warm. Summers are short enough in the Pacific Northwest that I don't want to wear closed in shoes unless I have to!

I live in Chicago and we get 4 seasons, so I always dress for the season. By the end of Winter I am ready to put all my boots away and wear strappy sandles. No need for a boot for me in July and August!

I lived in California all my life until about 5 years ago and got into the habit of wearing exactly what I want when I wanted.... I'm still of that mind however because I'm not in major season changes I don't want to wear boots during the summer, or ruin a dressy pair during inclement weather.... but I wouldn't think anything of anyone who wanted to wear boots any time of the year.... JMHO

I see women in shorts and boots in the summer. Even higher boots. Anything pretty much goes now, but I get sick of boots by the time spring is here.

I would not wear any time of boot in the summer with 80 to 100 degree weather. If it's 60 or 50 degrees, I say okay but that's just me.

I simply find it amazing that today adult women still ask questions like this about fashion. This OP is not the only or first I have read like this. What amazes me is that they feel they need the opinion of others, even strangers, to wear a style of clothing in a certain manner. What has happened to indivuduality and freedom of choice? Moreover, whom are we trying to please ? Only designers create fashion rules to suite their designs and sales. There really is NO proper etiquette about this.

As individuals, we can decide what we want to wear and when and how.

I can't believe any woman will follow these changing dictates. As long as you are clean and properly covered, I see no problem.

I so often still see the question if we can wear white after Labor Day. That rule was dismissed long ago? and who cares? Who is keeping notes on what you do ?

It just tells me that women are not as confident and free thinking as they should be.

It's time to be our own dictate and stop relying on others.
