I think a lot of companies who have items mass produced for the Q (like styles only sold at the Q), especially for a TSV, end up selling an inferior item.

I think they cut corners, and the quality suffers when they are producing something to sell at a super low price. Clarks included.

I am SO over sending Clarks shoes back! The sizes are so inconsistent, the same size can be either too large or too small depending on the style. So how are you supposed to know what size to order, especially if it's a new item and there are no reviews? Even ordering two different sizes doesn't work, neither fits properly. I used to love Clarks shooties in particular, I always wore the same size, but I haven't had much luck lately, so no more Clarks for me!

I find that no matter what, I really need to try on shoes no matter what brand at a bricks and mortar store. I've also had the same experience as you, the same shoes in the same size can fit differently, that happened with the last pair of Clarks shoes I bought. They are black ballet flats called Recent Drive. The pair I bought from Hudson's Bay on sale fit perfectly from the get go. About a week later I saw the exact same Clarks shoes at Winners. They were made in a different month from looking at the code inside the shoes and the same size and color were too big in the heel.

Hi. To the OP, your frustration is shared and that's the very reason why I don't order Clarks from the Q. I would love to, bc they have so many cute styles that I can't find in my area. But you are right...the sizing is inconsistent and frankly, I don't want to send them back if they don't fit. At first I thought, "Well, I'll just find a size/style locally & then be able to order the same in a different color when I see them on the Q." Hmm...that didn't work, bc I usually don't see the same styles. Like the poster TY stated, I recently purchased 2 pair of the SAME style of Clarks a few weeks ago(Ashland Scurry). One is a 6(Black), the other is 6 1/2(navy). Glad I tried the Navy ones on, bc if I hadn't, my face would have been cracked bc they would've been too small!

Don't know about anyone else, but I also found there was a "break-in" period for the Clarks I bought a few wks ago. They feel okay now, but those first 2-3 days of wearing them to work......oooooh weeee!

Trouble is, it's the same with everything. Every clothing line, shoe brand, even toiletries. It's been that way for decades, at least in my experience. I've been happy to find Clarks Bendables work for me, run true to size. I can never find shoes in stores (I wear 11W), so it's either the Q or Zappos, sometimes Footsmart. No way around he problems invloved with buying shoes online.

I don't buy Clarks because they just aren't made for my feet. I have tried several pair on over the years in the stores, and going up or down 1/2 to a size, changing widths, etc. - none of it has ever worked. The shoes just pinch or the toes hurt or it's "something" - but their last is not meant to fit my feet, so I gave up years ago. Nice shoes, but not for me.

I will probably have to send back the new $150 Nubuck hiking sneakers that I purchased. My last pair of Clark's, the moto boot in size 10W, fit like a dream. I thought the hiking shoes would be a safe purchase. There is no way on this Earth that they are a wide - they are mislabeled. The toe is very narrow.

Too bad - if it weren't for the mislabeling of the width they would be a very nice shoe. Rugged sole, nice rocking action, and they're cute. Length fits but I'm going to try them on one more time tonight when my feet are a little more swollen and if they still pinch, back they go.

I can not imagine anyone at any time - anywhere buying shoes that they have not tried on. There is a reason why shoe stores make the effort to try shoes on people before they buy them.

I was born with a club foot - had surgery to repair that as a baby and all my life I have always been very conscientious about buying good quality, perfect fitting shoes. Some people should try doing that - they may be happily surprised at how good it feels to wear the right shoes.

I remember when a trip to London always included a trip to the Clark's store on Kensington High Street. Once they stopped being made in the UK, I think the quality was lost. If you remember the old Clark's you might try Hotter brand (catalog) which is made in the UK and I think I read they employ some of old Clark's shoemakers.

As a child in England, I grew up wearing Clarks shoes. I wish QVC would show more of the stylish Clarks that are out there. My mum has ordered a few pair of Clarks from QVC and has been happy with them.

A couple of years ago I bought a really nice pair of Clarks in one of their stores for work. LOL, I have a hard time finding decent shoes for work that are in between high h00ker heels and ballet flats with no embellishment. These shoes are so comfy, but it's time for a new pair. Was in their store in a mall last weekend and the same shoes were on sale for $49, but they didn't have my size. Looked at their website and there they were. $39. Free shipping too. They came today and I ordered another pair. I just searched QVC's site and they had them too...for $110.

I have bought some Clarks from the Q and most of them have fit true to size. I did buy the one TSV that had a snake print and the leather was very soft. The shoe looked big on air so I ordered a wide rather than a medium but had to send them back because the leather was so soft they were too big. They were the only ones I have sent back. I live near a few Clark outlets and have bought more shoes there than on QVC only because I can try them on and sometimes I wear a 7-1/2 and sometimes I wear an 8 so depending on how they are made I have to try them on. I actually love Earth shoes now. I bought a pair of the suede and leather ankle boots for winter and they are the most comfortable pair of boots I own! I will definitely be ordering more Earth shoes but only when they are on easy pay because they are a little pricey!

I was about to start another thread, but realized I had this one. After reading the reviews, I'm SO glad I didn't order the TSV. I was tempted, it looked cute and comfortable, but as a person with wide feet, the reviews are saying that the wides are tight across the foot. So there you go, too bad!

On 1/30/2015 athenian said: I remember when a trip to London always included a trip to the Clark's store on Kensington High Street. Just a little tidbit to back up that in today's market, most brands have production partners (factories) in more than one place in the world.

I'm not doubting some have problems with inconsistent fit. I could name some brands which I have that very issue with. However with regard to Clarks, I've never experienced a fit issue. I wear the same size across the board in the Clarks family (Bendables, Artisan, Narrative, Collection, Orla, Unstructured) regardless of where I buy. Another thought is Bendables has become a QVC brand. It's not even sold at Clarks stores. Styles in the price range which look similar are part of Collection.
