I've loved Tig bags since I discovered them back in the 90's however, I'm not in love with them mixing PVC on their leather bags. I know it's to keep their prices down, but when you find one of these bags at a Thrift or Yard Sale and the leather is in great shape but the straps or interior trim is shredded it just breaks my heart....

I've purchased one bag that had the mixture and even though the handles were leather, the inside trim was not! Within a year's time the vinyl trim on the upper interior of the bag was cracking and spliting~! Very angering when the cost of the bag was roughly $129.00

They're still beautiful bags, just always check the description of the item and read what is leather and what isn't.... just so you know.

There are simply too many all leather bags equally as appealing, if not more so, and available at the same price point for me to often consider Tignanello any more. They still make the occasional attractive bag, but I'd only reluctantly pay QVC's prices for them, especially those that are mixed materials. Their older all leather bags didn't always strike me as stylish, but they were sturdy. The glazed leather is very pretty and I own both a satchel and a hobo, but will use them sparingly to try to extend their usable life... Yes, the excuse that man-made material straps extends the life of the bag is pure fantasy...

personally, I would not mind the PVC if they were reflecting that in the price - but the prices continue to go up while the quality goes down. Thus - they are no longer a good value for the money.

What makes me crazy is that often I have seen bags I liked but then found them to be 1/2 fake leather! I hate that. I am willing to pay a higher price for an all leather bag and I'm sure others feel the same way. I used to buy their bags even some that have the fake handle and trim inside. But later I found the handle so stiff and I just decided to not buy them any longer. The fake bottom of the bag I think looks awful and cheapens the bag.

I they insist on making bags not all leather, why not come out with a line that is all leather along with the ones that are not. Good solution I think.

They do have one bag I know of that I actually bought in five colors and this bag is All Leather! It is a hobo style and has cargo pockets in front and a braided design up the front. This bag is very soft and smells great. Comes in lots of colors. Their best selling bag! Hint, Hint

I'm with you OP. I, too, became a huge fan of TIG back in the 90's. I fell madly in love with the glove leather, and to this day it is my all-time favorite because it it so incredibly soft !!!

My most favorite handbag of all is a full glove leather vachetta bag, which is a true deep pumpkin color, has two full-zipped pockets on the front that are rounded off squares, and the bag is so soft and roomy I can hardly bear to transfer to my other favorite bags.

But the newer ones with the PVC absolutely break my heart. They are beautiful, but why begin the line with such all natural products, only to progress to this level ? Obviously the reason is cost, the almighty dollar. The prices don't reflect the savings, and it really mars the designer label.

I can't understand why this line and others stoop to this level expecting us to continue to pay these prices when the quality drops to this level. Yet people continue to buy. Don't they know how quickly these bags will tear up ?

They started out so nicely and then lowered the boom. I absolutely adore my bag I have now, and when I watch the shows that come on it makes me so sad because I can't find a decent looking bag now that doesn't contain this terrible product.

I am so sad now.

When Tig was started it was an independent brand. Then it was bought by KVZ (Kathy Van Zeeland) which also owned BMakowsky handbags. In order to distinguish the 3 lines owned by the brand ... Tig, BMak, and KVZ.. it seems they decided that KVZ would be all man made materials, BMak would be all leather, and Tig would be a mix of leather and man made. My guess is this was for cost reasons as well as brand positioning in the market place. (No one consulted me ).

Fast forward to the present time and all 3 brands are now owned by a Chinese conglomerate. Their goals and marketing strategies are quite different. it appears that Tig and BMak lines are both losing their quality reputation even further.

Their goals and marketing strategies are quite different. it appears that Tig and BMak lines are both losing their quality reputation even further.

All true and as far as I'm concerned, all three are well past their sell-by date... KVZ, despite being available over on HQ, seems essentially to be defunct... BMak doesn't seem to be too far behind. Tig seems to be making a valiant effort to hold on, though I honestly wouldn't miss any of them if they folded their tent and went home... It seems, though, that since Tig has a loyal following and name recognition that predates its affiliation with KVZ, the time might well be right to try to reposition this brand by bringing back the former quality. Were the current owners to do so they might be able to salvage this line and keep it around for the long haul...

No offense or disrespect intended to anyone, but it almost seems as though many Q customers are creatures of habit. The handbag market is increasingly ripe with options, more and more brands and enhanced competition and yet it seems so many go back to the same brands historically sold on Q. Where Dooney is concerned, I get that. With these other two, not so much... The Q has introduced a number of other brand options but most of them seem to go pretty much nowhere. Of course, across the board, QVC isn't really offering competitive pricing, shipping or honest to goodness sales to enhance themselves as a resource for purchasing handbags...

A-92852 is the only Tig bag I like. The first one I bought had the PVC (plastic) trim. Didn't know that. My fault. Didn't read the info. on it. It's OK, but I prefer the second one I bought years later, 100% leather in Emerald. I use it frequently. All other Tigs you can have. As far as Oryany goes, hate the gaudy lining, wont buy the bags because of it. So far, loving the GILI and of course, D&B.

A friend and I were recently discussing this. She was telling me about a Tignanello bag she had purchase and how the edge of the leather handles was man-made and cracked. I had recently purchased a couple of Tignanello color blocked suede shoppers with the zippers on the sides. I've been using them for about a month, one more than the other, but I had to check and sure enough, the edges are cracked in a few spots. These were my first Tignanelloes and if that's the kind of workmanship I can expect I won't be buying any more.

I agree that I don't like the mix either. It keeps the prices down for them, but they are still charging us full price. My biggest complaint is their linings come apart and the center pockets usually are so flimsy they shift from side to side making it hard to find stuff at the bottome. I buy mine at Macy's where the woman told me to keep the tag in an inner pocket after I take it off as they will replace it if the lining rips, I thought that was a great idea. With coupons and my Macy's card, I can get 45% off.
