Anyone hitting the Nordie's Anniversary Sale ?

Well, I shouldn't but I did (online). I love Perlina bags, nice leather, lightweight, no funny smells. I got the basic black for fall/winter. I have been all about prints (VB) , and colorblocking (Oryany) lately, so back to "basics". Kept looking at the sister tote: colorblocked of course. Mushroom was pretty also.

I told my husband that this was for my B'day, but since that isn't until Oct. that only got me an eye-roll.

13"W x 10"H x 5 ½"D. (Interior capacity: large.)
8" strap drop.
1.5 lbs.

Nice choice. Loved that bag when I saw it in the store. I bought a Frye jenny"" in dark brown. I buy a Frye bag every year at Nordies sale. I think I'll try someone else next year. That Perlina is tempting!

Perlina bags are beautiful leather. The only thing I bought were my favorite bras. I stock up when I see them on sale.

I was tempted by the Brahmin bags that were on sale earlier today. However, when I went back to check about an hour ago, almost all of them had sold out!! They were around $120 off.

Just got my black Perlina and, geez, does Nordies do a nice job. Sturdy cardboard box and the straps and zip pulls are protected and there are tons of paper to keep the bag's shape. No dust cover from Perlina though.

No funny smells.

The black is interesting, almost a matte finish and there are lots of pockets. And the weight is fab (1.5 lbs).

I love Perlina and it is getting much harder to find. Nordies/ Nordies Rack still has the best selection.

I love your new bag. It is so different from most structured bags. It has the shape of a hobo without the usual hobo slouchiness. Really great looking and I bet it will be very functional, too.

As for me, I've picked out a couple of things from the sale and according to the website, neither are available in a store nearby. Still waivering, but will probably order a Michael Kors trench coat with detachable liner and hood in khaki and the Dolce Vita Myste knee-high boots in black.

They're actually both very affordable, but I am a clearance shopping girl at heart, so I am trying to get over a mild case of sticker shock. I'm going to go for it, though. It's my new philosophy of putting quality over quantity. These are timeless pieces that I can wear for years if I take care of them. And I will feel great wearing them!

Warning: this is one of those "back in the day" stories. I used to work in San Francisco in the financial district in the mid to late 1990's. There was a positive European design influence reflected in even the American classic suits of Anne Klein and Ellen Tracy. There were beautiful boutiques and the ever classic I Magnin's downtown. I used to sit in Union Square and eat my lunch and just people watch. Everyone looked so chic.

I purchased some gorgeous scarves at DreamWeaver in Maiden Lane that I have to this day to brighten my ever present trench coat. Timeless pieces will serve you well and they have their very own mystique. Enjoy your thoughtful purchases.

Haha I've actually checked out the Nordstrom sale several times but never bought anything. If it were up to me, I'd buy everything I want on sale there but I'm really trying so hard to save for a Louis Vuitton To be honest, the Nordstrom exceeded my expectations. The sales are pretty good. Oh goodness, I'm getting tempted to shop!
