Gucci Soho Working Tote

I received this today. I don't know how to post a picture but I will try. It is very beautiful. I was torn between black and blue, but I have several lovely black bags. It is the darkest blue I have seen. It really looks black...like a dark sapphire. It is a large bag, a bit larger than the Florentine tab satchel Dooney (the older one)...but is SO light, feels like half the weight, It has a middle zipper divider pocket that fits my full,size I pad or a wallet and a few other things. It has 2 cell phone pockets on one side, and just a large space on the other. It has very long shoulder straps, long enough to fit over a heavy wool coat and a removable crossbody strap, 20" long. It has five brass feet. It has the Gucci logo. I like,that there is no closure, although I know many of you want a full outside zipper. It is a soft pebble leather. The card says it has not been waterproofed, so I am going to call and see if I can condition and seal it. Also,the lining is a light cream cotton, like thin burlap, which I would like to seal, It is the prettiest purse I have ever owned. The 15 items I am returning In response to "the letter" will pay for it, plus the other $500 by not buying for a month, it is my early BD present. Thanks for those who encouraged me,

Nice bag. May I please ask a favor? Can you make sure and open/break the seal on everything that you're sending back? That will ensure that it goes back into inventory in an ""As Is"" state for the rest of us.

Honestly you will love this bag for a long time....it's quality and it will stand the test of time. It seems like a lot of $$ but you only need one great bag. Enjoy!!!

if it was sold on QVC I'd be happy to help you out. but Gucci doesn't sell on QVC. I've looked for "a seal" on all the Gucci and on QVC products, and can't find a seal...perhaps you're thinking of sonething you own, one of the 7 seals? Besides, QVC will be selling everything I send back as new. They are unused by me, although several were clearly returns when I got them,.oooooooh, maybe what you mean is that I open all the bags I get. No probleM. I can do that with one hand whole fondling my gucci with the other.

No, because I received a "too many returns" letter, even though I was1% over their average customer and had kept 180 items in a year. I was offended , since the sales people stress we should NEVER keep an item we are not 100% satisfied with. So instead of paying $200-500 for knockoffs, I bought an original Gucci. There is no comparison. Don't have to train or condition it, or know that millions of women have the same bag, or that it will last a few years.The Gucci is really big, but deliciously light. The leather and styling is perfection. It is not a GILI, it is a Gucci. It is not made in China, it is made in Italy. Hey, not everyone can afford a Gucci. I can only afford it because I am returning 4 GILIS along with the other $1500 of items I bought in the last month, and the money I have saved by not shopping on QVC anymore, and the like new items that are over the 30 day policy. If they don't stick to their end of the bargain, neither will I. But thank you for asking. My 24 year relationship wit QVC is over, they don't care, and neither do I. It is a perfect resolution!

Congrats Nikalette!!!! I plan to get the Gucci Guccissima tote in the future as a graduation gift to myself. I am also considering a bag from their Soho line. I have seen all these bags in person and there is no comparison to the Gili line. I own the Gili Roma 2 in dark brown that I bought to travel with so I would not have to use my more expensive LV Neverfull (a gift) for that purpose. It works great for that. The Gili Roma 2 is a nice bag for the price but in no way is it a Gucci substitute.

I also commend you on cutting down on your shopping to get one really great designer bag. There really is no comparison once you own and carry one.

Thanks...I was just thinking I need to transition to that type of shopping with my wardrobe and jewelry...just a very few really good pieces. I have way too many items...I want to be like French women...French women tend to save up and get a few really good pieces. Of course I won't carry my Gucci every day..I'm still in a bit of shock,that I bought it! Oh, it is so lovely. It is sitting right across the room where I can admire it. My other bags are very nice, but it is just not the same. Thank you all for your encouragement! Otherwise I would worry. I remember what a splurge it was for me in my 20s when I bought 2 Doonies, which I still have. (They are so small!) I felt so wonderful carrying them.

Don't worry Nikalette; you made a smart decision. You returned a lot of bags and items in order to buy a bag that lasts and is timeless.

I know the feeling. When I had an important milestone in my life a couple years ago I bought myself a designer bag (LV) apart from the one I got as a gift so I have two. I still have them and did admire them on my couch for a long time when I first got them lol.

I am also transitioning to that kind of spending where less is more. Sometimes we don't really realize how much more we spend here and there and then we still lust for the true designer bags. If we consume less and just get what we really want, we would most likely spend less and be more satisfied with our purchases.

I absolutely agree with you. It's hard to give up the little day to day luxuries and hold out for the bigger luxuries, but it makes so much more sense! This is something I'm working on too. As someone, I don't recall who, said, it isn't how much you have, it's whether what you have is quality and is beautiful.

I agree with you Stevie! I have 4 bags that I love. On e os the Gucci Soho Large, Chanel classic, Vuitton Arstsy GM, and Vuitton Ellipse. Quality and beautiful!

Love this OP! Congrats Nikalette!!! I recently happened upon a site where their motto is "fewer better things". They only make a few quality pieces of clothing, bags, and accessories. They also encourage something called a "lean closet" where you donate everything that you do not wear often and only keep a few essential pieces. Btw their tote is either about the same size or a little bigger than the gili tote and is made of fine Argentinian leather and is crafted there not in China. I am so happy for you! This may seem like a really serious purchase now but in the long run it will be so worth it because in the many years you will have the Gucci you would have most likely went through a couple of cheaper bags, where quality is often compromised. Last thing, I love how on the Gucci tote the tassel is more of a 'tamed' size compared to the HUGE gili one lol. I loved the tassel thread awhile back. Tooo funny.
