Hi everyone! I really like the Mailbag Dooney cross body purses, but I wanted to know how they "age" over time. In particular, how do the coated cotton bags last in comparison to leather mailbags? Trying to decide! I want something that can take rain, too. Should I shell out the full price of a mailbag or wait until the sales?

Coated cotton will hold up very well in bad weather. As for the leathers, it varies with the type of leather and the color. Some people report no problems with Florentine leather in rain, they say spots dry and can't be seen. Others aren't as happy. Pebbled leathers are very durable and the best in all kinds of weather. And yes, I'd wait for a sale. What handbag are you looking at?
