As for the bag, when the problem was first discussed, some of those in the know recommended some form of leather sealer. I don't recall what it was, but if you search the older threads, perhaps you'll come across it... You might also take it to a good local shoe shop, as they might well know what the sealer is or be able to offer some other 'fix' for the bag. You might even consider contacting QVC CS to see if they have any suggestions. I got the dark brown one and so far have no problems.
