STRAW HANDBAG

I've been looking for a neutral straw handbag for the summer, but, just can't find anything reasonable. A tote, not huge, or hobo would be preferable. However, I can not justify spending more than $100 on a bag for just three months. I would love your suggestions. Thanks for your help!

Well, I thought I had a prospective winner with the new Vera Bradley straw bag. But the snap closure was too wimpy and the negative VB reviews confirm it. So, back to the search.

I think the OP does mean a straw bag....not necessarily a straw colored one.

Brighton makes several cute ones but they are pricey.

This is exactly the style of bag I was looking for! Unfortunately, the straw is version is sold out and they only have the fabric ones left. Great suggestion and I'll try looking for it somewhere else.

I got a nice straw bag last summer at penneys that was trimmed with black leather. Very pretty. it was my dress purse all last summer and will be again this year as it still looks like new.

Blondy, I just found some on Macy's website. You might like the styles too. In fact, I ordered a Giani Bernini tote that is on sale and was able to use a promo code EASTER for an additional 20% off. Less than $50 for a straw bag fits my budget. Hope you find one too.

I still love the old style straw handbags; like the one Sophia carried in The Golden Girls. I had 2 favorite ones I carried until they fell apart. I would like to see a comeback to the vintage styles of the straw handbags.

Here is that Coach bag, on the Factory sale site. I've seen it in

person, regret I didn't get it then. I'll probably order it on line. So well made and adorable.

Thanks so much. The Coach bag is cute but more than I wanted to spend, SUHSE. Yes, Redtop, I too like Sophia' s style. Decades ago I had a John Romain straw bag with the brown leather trim. I loved that bag. After that I had an Aigner bag with white leather trim. Those were made so well and lasted thru years of summer use. In fact, I still have the JR one....it can't be used anymore, but, I just can't get rid of it. That bag has so many memories attached to it; I used it every summer for years. OK, enough nostalgia.......I need to get my sweet potato pies out of the oven. Hope you all have a lovely day.
