topic Question about D&B straps (ordering) in Shoes

I am a florentine addict. Last month I got a chestnut tassel satchel from the DB website. As everyone knows, the straps aren't quite long enough to wear over the shoulder for a long period of time. I have gotten straps directly from DB before, so I called to get one for this bag. The rep first asked for the reg number of the bag. I have never in all my years registered a purse (just my personal preference). I also had never been asked that before. I told her I hadn't registered but got it from the website. She asked my name and the style of purse, so I told her. She then told me she couldn't sell me a strap, because it wasn't for the bag I purchased! Since when doesn't a company want my money? I told her I had ordered 2 previously and she insisted I didn't. I'm surprised at how calm I was when she just about called me a liar. I asked her why she wouldn't sell it to me and she said "it alters the design of the bag". WHAT!? Still remaining calm, I thanked her for her time and hung up. Ladies, help me here. Up until a couple of months ago, I was able to order straps for bags that didn't come with them. Oh yeah, she also said there wasn't anywhere to attach the strap, and couldn't understand how I did it. Has anyone had an unhelpful rep like this? Should I call again next week and/or ask for a supervisor? I'm flabbergasted at the response I got from this woman.
