Such a big difference between my Belle Gray maxi and the Serena maxi

I returned the Serena maxi. I received the Lisa Rinna (belle gray) maxi dress and what a difference in quality and fit. The Belle Gray maxi is lovely. The fabric, the cut, the drape, the length, everything is just perfect. The Serena maxi, the cut was strange, it was too big, too long, the fabric felt cheap and it looked terrible on me.

I never thought I would like Lisa Rinna's line as much as I do. I was pleasantly surprised by the fit and fabric of this maxi and it is well worth the $60 plus S&H and tax I paid for it. Glad she has her things at Q and I hope she is there for a long time.

Thanks for the info Amp! I, too, like Belle Gray. I received her new pants, and they are darling. The only "issue" is that the waist runs really small. I do love the overall style and the fabric. The fabric is really nice.

I'm glad you like your maxi. I haven't had much luck with Serena's line. Everything I've bought from her has been donated for the most part. I probably won't' buy anything else. I've not donated anything from Lisa Rinna's line.

You are welcome Win. I do love my dress. I am mostly a 10 on top and a 12 on the bottom and I was afraid that the top of the dress would be too loose through my bust and underarm area but it's not, it fits perfectly! I may order the coral color later on. Still thinking about it.

I have worn my Belle Gray tops that I have to the point where I am thinking my family gets tired of seeing me in them! I do find them comfortable and soft.

I thought her new pants were adorable! I am sorry the waist is a bit small on yours. Maybe you got a pair that was mislabeled?

I have the cargo ones she did last year (not the original pair she had but the second pair she sold) and love wearing them and I like the rise on them. The fabric is nice and they are stinkin' cute. Everytime I wear them I feel chic!

While I have not tried all of HSN clothing brands, I have found them mostly to be inferior to QVC's in terms of quality and the price usually reflects it. That being said I do have some HSN clothing that I enjoy including several pairs of Serene's leggings and a really cute pair of pants from Twiggy.

I didn't even check, Amp, to see if the waist was what the measurements said it should be. I normally don't have any problem with elastic waists so I bet it's missized. I need to get a tape measure out, LOL. I hate to send them back though as I know my size will not come back in stock. The fabric is so nice, and the ties at the bottom are adorable. I do think her quality is high. I have liked most of the items of hers that I have purchased. Your dress is very cute! I'm sure you look fabulous in it!

imaclotheshog, which Belle Gray maxi are you referring to? I tried one of Serena's last year and was really disappointed because it had good reviews. I found the fabric to be very cheap and thin looking.

Hi Wonderwoman! (sorry I just saw these posts!) It is the drape front solid one. I am really kind of surprised it is as nice as it is, for the price. I didn't see the initial presentation but I got the black later on. I paid $60 plus S&H and tax for mine. I think it's totally worth it too. The material and fit is great!

I was so unimpressed with the Serena maxi for about the same price. I didn't like the fabric at all, it was odd fabric and yes thin and just not for me. It looked horrible on me!

Thank you so much Win! I bet they sent you the wrong size! It happens sometimes, clothing can get mis labeled.

I am set for maxi dresses now, I have plenty for summer! I have a really cute openwork/crochet lightweight dove gray-blue colored cardigan from Loft that's new that I plan to wear with some of my maxi dresses and this Belle Gray one I just got. I am sooo ready for vacation!

I think it is hit and miss with both channels. I have gotten a few things from both places that I'd not have recommended to anyone, the quality was so poor. But then again, I've gotten some things that surpassed my expectations.

There are a couple lines I like, from both channels. Speaking of Twiggy. I bought a very cute top from Twiggy's line last year and love it. It is so soft. I have gotten so many compliments on it.

I remember when Lisa wore the original version of that maxi at the Hamptons event and then did a knock-off.

When I first saw the Belle Gray maxi awhile back it struck me right away that it was nearly identical to the GILI because I too thought it odd Q would bring in the nearly same dress under 2 different labels.

Thanks for replying to me! I don't need another black maxi, so I will watch the video and check out the aqua version. I agree that $60 isn't a bad price if the quality is there. I would rather pay a little more to have better quality fabric and really love and feel good in a garment, than pay less for something that's just ok. Thanks again for the review and the link!

The 2 dresses are the same style, however the Belle Gray version has much better reviews.

Thanks for the great review...What a beautiful Maxi...I have been looking for a couple and I think the Black and the Coral would be perfect for me...I so love the draping in the front...It looks really classy...I have not ordered any of her clothes yet, but I have a couple of her eternity scarves and they are super cute and really soft...Amazing quality...

I live abroad now, but will be back in the states in June and will have them shipped to my Mom's home...I think these would be great with a cardigan over, as I am sometimes conscious about my arms...
