I love so many of Kim's sweaters. Howeveryou have to lay flat to dry. Actually a lot of garments require that. Does everyone have BIG homes? I have a small place and I have pets, No place to lay stuff all over to dry. Not to mention a cat would find his way on top of the drying clothes. Fur and wet make a disaster, I can;t be the only one with limited soace. What can folks share that they do to solve the problem.

I tend to put a lot of items in the dryer on air dry for a few minute then hang. I can get away with hanging a lot of things.

However I have a counter in my laundry room and purchased a stackable drying rack that I can place a few sweaters on flat to dry. I also have a door to the laundry room which I would keep closed if I had a cat.

@anxious1. Do you have a covered patio? That's where I lay mine. If necessary I can also arrange it flat on the back of the sofa and turn the ceiling fan on.

@anxious1 I have a stainless steel collapsible drying rack which I use in my bathroom or bedroom to dry a few things I don't put in the dryer. I keep both doors closed at all times.

I have a cat & dog. My bathroom & bedroom are off limits to them. I don't sleep in their beds, use their bathroom so they don't use mine.

@anxious1 you can strategically lay them on a drying rack which could be set up in your bathtub (if space is an issue) also, you roll them in a towel for a couple of hours & then lay them on the drying rack. Different styles of drying racks are readily available at stores and online.

When we're at the condo, space for flat drying becomes a challenge.

We sometimes air dry in the dryer for a few minutes and then using a thick or microfiber towel, roll the item and knead it on the table for a few minutes and then either hang on a collapsible rod dryer ( if really heavy, I spread it over 2 rungs ) or use 2 shower curtain rods.

Shower curtain rods: I rest them on the long wall of the shower and when needed, I roll them away from the wall and draped the item over one or two....if heavy, use 2 spread apart to even out the weight.

I think I will try the air dryer. Sadly I always wanted a laundry room but never had one! Washer and dryer in garage with no counter or sink (also wanted lol) the car and lots of stuff no place else to put.

I dry things in the dryer for a few minutes then hang over the back of a chair. I have a table and chairs downstairs in the family/lgame room and I even lay things on the table.

That rack that Mz iMac posted is handy - my Mom had one of those - she'd set it up in the bathtub. Her was wooden.

I don't have much room either so I got one of these stacking sweater-drying racks. Find them on amazon. They have different number shelves depending on what you need.

Search: Sweater drying rack or mesh clothes drying rack.

If I only have 1 I hang over the washer lid.

More than that I do the same as @haddon9 I'll air dry on low in the dryer for a few minutes then hang them.

What is the fiber content of the sweater?

If it's cotton or acrylic ... I would put them in the dryer for a while at a lower temperature.

I use the stackable drying racks that @SilleeMee posted. If you have your own washer and dryer, you could stack this on top when not in use, or if they are front loaders. Maybe stack it on some other flat surface in your home? Not sure about how to keep cat off it though.

@anxious1 .............Depending on the material and the thickness I either put my dryer on delicate or air dry. Laying flat to dry to me is a pain and nonsense. Mostly I do not buy clothing that says lay flat to dry.

I never lay anything flat to dry. I fluff for 5 mins in dryer then I take it out and hang it on a sweater safe hanger. Done.

I use the regular accordian style drying racks and just drape sweaters over two of the rungs. I can't remember every laying a sweater flat to dry.

I pretty much dry everything no matter what it says. Not hot or for long and some items just air dry. I pretty much do that with all my clothes anyway. I also have pets as well but some counter space I can use now and then.

I have stopped buying sweaters actually and take too much extra care to wear all the time. I have gone to jackets or vests and sweatshirts and easy to wash and wear items for the winter time. Work is super casual anyway. Just a few sweaters is all I need really. I like to layer.

I use a wooden clothes rack in the basement. Laying flat to dry doesn't really get them dry.

@Mz iMac Oohhh, I like this one! I think I need to upgrade. These are so handy.
