Old Clothes.

I have a lot of clothes that fit me from years gone by and I still enjoy pulling things out occasionally and wearing regardless of what’s trending. If they look new and still fit nicely I have no qualms about putting them on. Even if I spent a little or a lot( not too much, I don’t buy designer clothes- but nicer brands yes). So for example I’m traveling later this summer and have been thinking about what I’m packing and I have skirts I just tried on that zi had bought on the Q last year and Others I got a Anne Klein and even Amazon that I’m thinking I may pack.. Do you ladies do the same thing or are you wearing only what’s new this season?

I don't know anyone who ONLY wears new clothes.

My style is traditional. I don't buy trendy clothes. Which means I wear the same style clothes all year round. I have summer and winter traditional clothes.

Most of my clothes are 'classic' styles where they don't go out of style. Plus I buy clothes that can be worn year-round so that way I'm always rotating through most of my closet from season to season. About the only thing that changes are the colors I choose wear to make it more appropriate for one season or another. No need to buy new clothes until something wears out, gets stained or I am simply tired of it and it gets donated.

That’s good to know. I have a combination of classic and boho, and sporty clothing and regardless if it’s either I still feel comfortable wearing them. I try to tailor my outfit to what I think is appropriate for the occasion but regardless I love having fun with my clothing..and enjoy wearing things I may have for a year or many..

I'm like you. Nice clothes but not expensive, comfortable classics, most styles in my closet are sort of timeles.

I too am traveling this summer. Bought a new dress from LL Bean to take- a stretch knit fit n flare style. But will also be packing some things that I've had for years that still look current.

April of NY pack what you have and enjoy your trip,no one will know if it's New or Old.

I really wonder how families do it with the prices I am seeing or is it just these shopping channels prices that have become RIDICULOUS.

Have a box full of clothes right now to donate somewhere ,not because I don't like but just that they gotten too big on me over the years but know someone will be happy to get them.

I've kicked around long enough and tried many clothes over the years so know what I like and what works for me. Occasionally, if it's appealing to me, I might try a trend, but more times than not, I stick with the tried and true.

Thanks and I’m going to do just that and I realized my skirts are from Ann Taylor not Anne Klein though I do have an old trench I bought at the outlet from Anne Klein I do still have and love. I was fortunate to live near Woodbury Commons and shopped there before we retired more often. Now if I go once a year it’s a lot.

I just finished moving my warm weather clothes to the front of the closet.

I have no plans to buy any new clothes. My style doesn't change. I don't do trends.

I did buy a couple of pairs of black sneakers, and crocheted some lacy summer sweaters.

Goodwill has some 'boutique' stores where they sell high-end and premium fashions. If you want to save a few bucks and need some new fashions then see if there is a Goodwill boutique in your area. There are not many of the boutique stores for obvious reasons but what they sell is very nice. Plan to spend more than you would at a regular thrift store. It's all high-quality stuff and in top condition, many new with tags still on them.

Some of the stores in my state are open for only a few months out of the year. The last time I was in one of the boutiques, it was packed full of people shopping.

My daughter finds such excellent bargains at her Connecticut Goodwill filled with high end clothing but the prices are very reasonable..

@SilleeMee You will crack up laughing on this one. During covid time we started with the jigsaw puzzles. Oh my, we had a mountain as we got hooked even when the virus was over. I mad sure every piece was in place, wrapped properly.

So I told him please drive them over to a Good Will store, someone will appreciate them and also make a nice gift.

Guess what? The guy in the drop off zone rejected all puzzles. (huge bag, at least 15 boxes twice) I was very surprised as they can make a nice holiday gift. He did ask and they told him "too many missing pieces was his answer to BF. Well I tried to do a good deed that even donation does not want. lol..

I took gently worn clothes, mostly outerwear, to a locally operated shelter. Obviously worn but without tears or stains. The gentleman in charge of donations came to my car to examine the goods. He rejected all of them. He said we prefer new items. Yet here were good quality jackets etc that would've taken the chill off a Michigan autumn, new or not.

I was taken aback. Never had anything more to do with them.

Yes my friend, what an idiot!! They don't. I think someone came back and did the puzzle but maybe a few missing parts for some puzzles and bingo. All bad! (2 big bags)

So once again put a sledge hammer to the whole gesture. I packed mine very carefully. (sometimes there is a piece missing or two even on new from the manufacturer (I usually replace them easily through Amazon who give me a whole new box with no problem by telling them what happened. Easy, I would have trashed those.

Mine were all 1,000 or 500 pieces intact. So much for being a good caring citizen.....haha.. I give up.

If the boxes of puzzles are in good shape , maybe donate at the Post Office when they have boxes to collect toys for a Christmas Drive. The box is just sitting there no scrunity . All items must not be wrapped .
