Whose Paying For the Fancy Headquarters?

I've loved QVC and Kim Gravel for many years, but the prices have gotten ridiculous. I agree with many of those that have posted over the last week or so that I can now get much better deals through Talbots or JJill. Lately, it seems that when I go to buy something from Kim, the reviews are not so great. Anyway, I just want to warn those that buy her clothes to watch out! She's built a new, fabulous headquarters and guess who will be paying for that new headquarters? You, that's who. Watch her prices continue to go up.

I haven't purchased anything from this brand in awhile due to the big increases in pricing. I like some of her fabrics and styles but it's lost its charm with me. The pricing is now a deterrent.

And she's mentioned that her husband Travis, the cheapest man on the planet is the finance manager of her business. Yes, one of his brilliant decisions is to double the pricing of her garments. It's just not as enticing to shop as it once was when it initially launched.

No one is forcing you to buy her clothing. If this is what Kim Gravel wants to do that is her business. She is making her own business decisions. As you stated you go elsewhere so why do you think it affects you in anyway? With all due respect I never read anything so silly.

Wait, a corporation built a new headquarters building and we are trying to figure out who paid for it?. Of course the profits from her sales pay for every single brick, nail and coat of paint in a new building.

It's called charging what the market will bear. If enough people stop buying her items, the prices will go down.

As a customer of both JJill and Talbots I'm willing to bet Kim's sales dwarf both of them put together.

@JoshsMom I looked back on your posting history. So many posts about Kim. If you do not like her dont watch and dont buy it is that simple. Its time for you to move on to a new topic

@Janey2 the OP @JoshsMom is stating an opinion that many Q shoppers share. Yes, there are many that will continue to shop this brand and many that will no longer shop or have cut back. Nothing silly about it

I find Kim Gravel to be a hit or miss. I'm petite and most of her tops are just too long including the sleeves. I don't care for rolling my sleeves up all the time. I also really don't like when she does a puffy or full sleeve. It adds more volume to the body. I prefer a slimmer cut.

However I really like her scuba fabric a lot. I like the way it fits and feels against my skin. One of my favorites is the sparkle & shine hoodie A711080. Yes it's not a petite but it is fun to wear and have gotten compliments whenever I wear it. It's more of a casual look.

I agree with you; time for her to move on. Why would anyone be keeping tabs on a designer/vendor/whoever that they didn't like that long ago?

@haddon9 I too like her scuba fabric and I also like some of her blouses and prints. Will watch for as is or clearance but I'm not paying full price

Welp, I'm looking forward to KG 'all sale' show with Amy in about 5 minutes.

The last garment I purchased from the line was a striped hoodie which I love. I started a thread about it in the fashion forum a couple of weeks ago.

I'm going to make a tall mug of black coffee before the show starts...

@Janey2 No I didn't miss anything...Kim is bragging about her 'wealth' the vacations, the stuff she buys, the new corporate building and vehicles they will buy to commute to the 'Belle Campus'

It is our business because it affects our budgets as it pertains to us shopping her brand. No one is sneaking around looking for this info, Kim is telling us in a bragging manner during her shows! The shows where she's selling tops at $70-80 when they used to be sold at $35-40. The OP is free to post as little or often as anyone else. It's creepy that anyone would look at her history to use it to intimidate her. Why do that?

What's up with this investigation of prior posts? I don't get here very often now but in years past, I don't remember this happening.

@Calibeach I posted that to show this is not the first time she has commented on Kim. Intimidate her. I doubt she read the boards or even cares. Creepy is what I call your comment calling me out

@Tori3569 Couldn't agree more. I have far too many clothes in my home, but none from Kim. Talbot's and J Jill have brick and Mortar stores in a mall about a half mile from my home. I don't go to the mall often. but when I do, I don't shop either store. I'm not excited about the quality or the prices at either, but if I were and wanted to shop them, I know some part of what I spend goes to pay their rent, their employees, their insurances, their utilities, etc.
