Pants for apple shape!

Do any of you beauties know any brand or designer who

makes pants for apple shape?

I'm going to be traveling and I need new pants.

If I buy my size the waist is so tight, I can't breathe.

If I size up one size, the waist fits, but they are huge in the

rear and thighs. :-(

(Yes, I wear elastic waist bands, same scenario.

Yes, I buy the high waisted ones so the waist sits

above my fat waist)

Any suggestions would be so helpful!

I'm a "pear" shape and one reason I have never bought DG2 pants is that I think they are made for "apple" shapes. Maybe check them out on HSN and look closely at the measurements.

I have the same fit issue. I don't want baggy legs, either. I'm short and a wide or loose leg only makes me look dumpy-er. And I don't like pants that flop around my legs. At least QVC gives us the measurement for the opening at the bottom of a pant leg.

I've had some luck with Democracy jeans.

I think you are overlooking the obvious here ...

Off-the-rack clothing is mass market. It's cut so the most people can fit into what they consider their size.

Off-the-rack clothing isn't meant to fit every one of us perfectly. It can't possibly work for everyone. Humans come in different heights, weights and body shapes.

How could ANY manufacturer cut a pair of pants that could fit everyone perfectly? IMO, it's just not possible.

If you have trouble with sizing, get yourself to a tailor who can make any minor alterations needed for you.

(It's better to go up a size so they have enough spare material to work with.)

Don't you prefer to wear clothing that fits well?

IMO, too many women "try to make it work" with garments that aren't cut just for them.

Factor in the cost of a tailor when you buy new clothing. You'll be surprised how many more compliments you'll receive.

I have found wit and wisdom at Nordstrom and democracy at Nordstrom rack fit this figure type the best I've ever tried.

The newest trend is the "barrel" pants. Looks like they'll fit everybody, but unfortunately don't look good on anybody.

This is going to sound wierd. And I dont know what size you buy. But you might want to try mens straight leg jeans in your appropriate waist size and length,

I can tell you to not buy Susan Graver. She designs for women with smaller waists and bigger hips and thighs. I agree with the poster who suggested DG2 jeans. She designs for those with larger waists an̈d smaller hips and thighs. I haven't tried her regular pants though.

The only ones I know of are more plus sized companies that start at size xl. Juno Actove and maybe Ulla Popken
