They mark it down for sales.Most of the time sale price was the price most competitiors sold it for. Not a real sale. But if you buy it not on sale you can return for refund of difference. Not only that but you could put thing away for a sale later on in the month. Why don't they have just one fair price? I hate buying items, and seeing it marked down to clearance 3 weeks later. That is why I will not shop Kohls. The only time you get a great price is if you use a Kohl's credit card. The prices are high for what you get, but then you have to figure out the coupons, bonus bucks. Geesh, it is too much work.</P> <P>Neiman Marcus has it right. When they have a sale, it is a real bonified sale on quality products.</P> <P>Most stores that carry their own lines, have the customer where they want them. You can't price compare, because most of the items are exclusive to their company. They use the highest mark up, then have 3 or 4 "sales" on the same item in a 2 month period. During that time they may sell their items 20% off to "insiders', then they will sell it again on a special "holiday sale at 30% off. Then they clearance it out at 50%. When they sell it at 50% off they actually are making about 70%, because they originally marked it up 20% over keystone (double the cost)</P> <P>Geesh. Additionally, they will be receiving new items from the warehouses for a while longer, so if you still like the store, check with your local one - the operation is winding down, but they're a ways off from closing altogether, it seems.
