    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="6"&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/266462"&gt;@cindyNC&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp; I've hemmed a million pants and I tend to grab whatever thread I have that matches the fabric color.&amp;nbsp; I find that it doesn't make much difference.&amp;nbsp; Most thread sold has a stretchy poly core with a cotton sheath but I also have some old 100% cotton thread and use it too.&amp;nbsp; The stretchy thread is important for machine sewing, not so much for hand sewing.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a few pair of knit pants that need to be hemmed.&amp;nbsp; I don't have a sewing machine and the tailors in our small town are not that great.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Have watched a few youtube videos on how to stitch them, but I'm not sure what kind of thread to purchase.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My understanding is that knits need a more stretchy thread........not cotton....brand names would be helpfu.!.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I want to say they suggest polyester thread for knits, not cotton. It should be on the packaging or, of course, if you go to a fabric or hobby store, the staff will know.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
