O/T DO YOU HAVE A SIGNATURE SCENT?

Yep. It's official. Jo Malone and I are divorcing. I put her on lovingly, but she refuses to last. Half an hour later, I don't even know she exists.

So, I'm in the process of seeking a new perfume. Do you have any recommendations?

Hi Magic. I really don't have a signature scent, but I've been wearing Flowerbomb a great deal lately. I love that scent. The one I just purchased from Sephora over the weekend was Tom Ford Black Orchid. My sister in New Orleans wears it, and I loved it on her. I hope I like it as much, LOL.

I am currently using Prada Iris. Get a lot of compliments on it and it lasts all day. I love Tova Signature, but the scent doesn't last very long....at least not on me.

Oh dear, magic!

I love/own/wear many Jo Malone scents. I'd have to say my signature scent is JM's Orange Blossom. I reach for it more than any other. I don't have any problem with the scent fading, though I wear the cologne on its own.

Have you tried layering JM? First the body cream, then the cologne?

I have heard that many women actually use JM's bath oil as their "perfume" because it is longer lasting.

Here are a couple of others I like that are not Jo Malone:

Houbigant - Quelque Fleurs

Annick Goutal - Petite Cherie

If you like gardenias, I'd recommend Fracas.

Hi maddie!

Orange Blossom is my favorite, too. Although I love many others, Nectarine Blossom and Honey, Lime Basil and Mandarin, White Jasmine and Mint, just to name a few.

Maybe I need to take a break. Then, hopefully, when I revisit some of my favorite scents, they will be more lasting? I know, wishful thinking!

I'll give you my review ! So far it appears to have really good staying power. I could smell it on my jacket the next day and I only put one spritz on!!! So far…so good.

I'm a long time Avon girl. My signature scent for the past year has been Avon's Haiku. I'm still in love with it, so it will be my summer scent.

I know you said you can't smell it 30 minutes later, but can other people? I know that's not nearly as pleasurable for the wearer if you can't smell your own perfume, but it helps to know whether it's really disappearing or whether you just grow used to it and no longer notice it on you.

I've noticed that some fragrances really stick to some fabrics better than to people. I've definitely noticed that with my Jo Malone scents. If I put Lime, Basil & Mandarin or Dark Amber & Ginger Lily on while I'm wearing a sweater, I'll notice the scent on that sweater days later. And yes, sometimes even if I've gotten used to the scent throughout the day, I'll pick the sweater up out of the hamper to put in the laundry two days later and smell the perfume again. Just something to consider. Now I often put my clothes on before I put the fragrance on. I do know that even when I didn't notice my own fragrance, other people have complimented me on it, so they could smell it even when I couldn't.

Some of her lighter fragrances do seem to slip away, never to be rediscovered later in the day or the next day.

If you find a Jo Malone scent that you do really love, see if you can get a sample of the body cream. It's not cheap, but I find that the Lime, Basil & Mandarin body cream scent seems to stick with me even longer. Layering that with the cologne lasts the longest. I usually use the body cream on my arms and find that a little goes a long way and, when I use it that way, I can really make that jar last.

Mine is Clinique Happy (the original). It's the only scent I wear and I get compliments all the time on how nice I smell. Just today at my local Ulta store one of the salespeople told me I smelled nice and asked what was I wearing. I've been using it for at least 15 years.

No. I stopped wearing perfumes about 10 years ago out of concern for the health of people who have serious sensitivities to fragrances.

Thank you for the suggestions, ChynnaBlue. Lime, Basil & Mandarin is such a clean scent, I almost consider it unisex.

Even if others can smell my scent, I like to smell it too--I'm selfish that way!

I forgot about Clinique Happy! I love that scent--it makes me HAPPY!

My kids will say if they pick up my sweater or scarf (and so will my DH), "Oh, this smells like mom". And I tend to switch things up every day so they are not remarking on a single, signature scent. But I reach for the Philosophy scents every single day. I like Fresh Cream, AG, BG, and PG. In fact, I have the big mama size of the PG lotion and use this all the time regardless of the other scent I'm layering on top and it works great.

I have not smelled it, but am intrigued with Fresh Cream--I like the name--it sounds so organic!
