Please help me understand how to identify returned/repackaged items; specifically clothing items. Recently I have received some items (various brands: Kim Gravel, Denim & Co., Barefoot Dreams) that by outward appearances may not “look” like a return because tags are still attached. However, one item had a very strong odor of cigarette smoke while another (different item/order, shipped separately) was packaged in a much larger (inner) clear plastic bag than necessary. All the items I referenced had a white outer printed label on the clear packaging. Is there something that would indicate or stand out to you that would be a red flag that it was a returned item besides the obvious smell?

Thank you!

The labels on the returned items are different, larger and more square.

I love that they send these items. I've received dozens and never got one that wasn't pristine. I've managed to receive several things I really wanted that otherwise would have been unavailable

For all intense and purposes @Blessed in TX , if you can't tell if the item is a return I don't find it a problem. Even if an item is in original pristine packaging, tags attached, etc., the item could still smell or perhaps appear used due to damage while packaging.

In my opinion, if you can't tell, no worries. Same as when you go to a Brick and Mortar store, you can't always tell how many people tried on an item, what perfume/makeup they wore, or if it was gifted and returned.

@cjm61 I think you misunderstood my post. I was merely asking if there were indications of a returned/repackaged item such as a different label and such. Nothing more, nothing less.

If I buy brand new, I want it to look it. I just received two shirts that were obvious returns, some buttons undone and wrinkled across the back. In this case, they were dirt cheap so would not return. As is items that is expected.

as someone else stated......"new" packaging labels on clothing are rectangular in shape. "repackaged" and/or "returned" items have a more square label on them.
