No- Sew hem tape suggestions, please!

faux suede pants from Louis Dell'Olio that I would love to wear.

Instead of tape I use PeelnStick fabric fuse. No need for an iron and holds up to machine washing and drying.

An added benefit is that I've uses beyond fabric for it.

@Magny I'm the "hem queen"...everything is too long! I use the iron on hem tape. I've never had an issue with it coming off in the wash or if dry cleaned.

Wide styled hems or unfinished hems for style...all wasted on me since all are hemmed.

Thanks @Marp . I just ordered some PeelnStick fuse for my new blazer. Sleeves are gonna get hemmed shorter. Easy peasy.

Don't put an iron of faux leather----PLEASEEEEE!!! am intrigued with the peel and stick tape for fabric--- I have double stick tape for skin to fabric contact--to keep straps up or gaping blouses closed.

@wagirl, the PeelnStick fabric fuse is the same principle just a stronger bond.

Fusible products for hemming are not very dependable and just last a few washings. I'd probably use a single thread and a very tiny stitch and try to grab one of the stitches on the underside of the fabric rather than worry 😟 if my hem was going to stay in place.

@Kachina624, I have numerous items of clothing that I have hemmed using PeelnStick adhesive that have lasted through two or more years of regular wear, laundering and drying without having any problems.

@Marp. This must be a newer product. I haven't sewn much in recent years and am not familiar with it but I ordered some and surely will try it. Thanks for mentioning it.

I would not use an iron on faux suede it might melt it, the tape is a much better idea

@Magny I have an associated question.

I got a pair of Women with Control cargo pants a few weeks ago. They're that polyester fabric (I forget exactly what it's called).

They fit fine BUT ARE TOO LONG.

How do I approach this? Do I take measurements of the right length, then cut the cloth maybe 1" longer than what I measure and then use that tape discussed on this thread to create a hem?

Thank you! I didn't want to cut the fabric until I got some advice from those having more experience than I do with hemming pants.

@pdlinda - I'm not an expert, but I would avoid cutting the fabric. You may end up with fraying issues, etc, once you cut it.

Anyone remember "Tear Mender"? Bought it a few years back and used it all up. Needed it again ,but alas Q no longer carries it. Got it from A.
