Bride Dyed Her Wedding Dress Pink And Wore It To Friend's Wedding

It's definitely a wedding dress style that can be reworn. She's planning to have it dyed black (it was professionally dyed pink) and wear it for her 40th birthday. Bride is a stylist and is the daughter of shoe designer Penelope Chilvers. Her dress is from The Own Studio.

Her husband rewore his wedding suit to the friend's wedding too. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

She has a very long torso so that drop-waist style gown does not flatter her. Combined with her poor posture and floppy boobage, the look isn't great.

I think the dress would look great in black ( on someone else.)

What a fantastic idea!

I can think of many wedding dresses that would look beautiful in pink, or black, or other colors.

Just remove the train, shorten to a desired length (midi, short, even a slightly shorter maxi).

I'm recalling a time when we used to dye (or have professionally dyed by shoe stores) white linen or silk shoes to match our bridesmaids dresses.

Let's be honest, she didn't just have the dress dyed pink. She had it reworked. They removed the bridal train and slimmed down the skirt. That took the bridal look away. I don't particularly like the look for a wedding guest but I do understand that this is a nod toward sustainability and that is a good thing.

I give her props for taking the dress where she can wear it to future events. Yet, as a traditionalist I hate the thought of the most important dress in your life not put away for safe keeping. One day offering it if they so choose to daughter and/or granddaughter.
