Whatever happened to affordable clothing on QVC? Once upon a time I did buy clothing items from them, I realize prices have increased but not like this. God Bless you if you can afford the exorbitant prices, I can't. Give me Macys on a sale day with coupons, I do very well.

@Jordan2 - I've found some great deals with the fashion clearance items recently.

I usually wait until the item I want gets reduced - unless it's something I can't live without.

Again, the recent clearance prices have really been good - if you can find your size. The free shipping days are a bonus too. However, I don't mind paying 3.50 for shipping. I think 3.50 for shipping is a bargain.

@Jordan2 I agree....this summer I just discovered "Style with Serena" (or by Serena?)...on YouTube. I love her videos, and she's petite like me, has a lot of my style preferences...so I get good ideas from her.

She turned me on to Walmart, Old Navy, Lands End and JCrew. Of course I've shopped at most of those before, but I just focused more on looking at them online this summer. Got QVC beat on all fronts. Better ship costs and free returns on some (Walmart is the best.) And especially with Walmart, who years past I'd have turned my nose up at getting clothing there...they make it the easiest...fast shipping, free returns. I got two sundresses, 100% cotton gauze...lovely dresses, fit me perfectly, good material and style...$20 each.

Got a cute Old Navy, 100% cotton crochet sweater, I love.

LOFT always sends me a birthday coupon, and their sales are terrific and constant...so I've gotten some beautiful items there. I used to work for LOFT, and have a soft spot for them, still.

I don't count QVC out...got some items this summer for deals I love here too. But heaven forbid you have to return...which I've done my share of this year...a deal breaker now for me...it adds up. So I have to be pretty sure, before I pull the trigger. A lot of items have worked out.

Anyway...so many options these days...and cost, shipping/returns, ease of shopping matters! As you say, Macy's online is good too.

You said it---increased costs of everything and it being 2024 and not the 80's/90's---I certainly can believe and understand it. I don't shop much for clothing here--I go to the malls or my local stores. I want to try stuff on and take it home right there and then and not have to wait for the shipping and returning if it doesn't fit--which for the most part, it never fits me. I do like Macys too. I can get so much more for alot less.

I agree about the shipping, I don't mind paying for shipping. But I think the pricing with the low quality of the items is something I cannot accept so I shop fashions elsewhere. Just my opinion.

I should be the last person chiming in on prices because I've been known to splurge on things I want and quality. Here's the big but ... yesterday while watching a little of an hour with Jennie Garth I was somewhat surprised to see a set of two t-shirts being sold for $70. I feel for a new brand at QVC the price should have been in the neighborhood of $50. That price point seems like one that would have led to more sales for a new brand. I emphasize the new brand aspect because, given the cost of returns, a perk on prices seems fair to me. Once the brand is established, regular customers will be willing to pay $50 for one t-shirt knowing the fit and quality will meet their expectations.

QVC sells mid price, mid quality clothing. Not such fantastic sales tho.

Macys has some good quality clothing from good brands and they cost. Good sales at times. Just stay away from their house brand, not worth the money ever.

Want cheap? We all know where to go.

What is too expensive and what is not depends on our individual situations. Some clothes from QVC I can afford, some I can not. Some of the very wealthy have the luxury of choosing if they want to splurge and some enjoy being frugal. Me, I need to be careful and buy what I consider mid-range, when an item is new and first offered at a featured price.

I learned my lesson, though, buying clearance clothing from QVC. I imagine that these clothes are the in far corner of the warehouse and not in a prime location to pick and get ready to ship. Almost every time I buy clearance fashion, it's the wrong size or color, or flat out not what I ordered.

I buy very little clothing from QVC lately. Too many prints (for me) and too expensive. I've been shopping more local now, especially Costco. Bought a pair of crop pants for the summer I've been living in, so light and comfortable and only $12. I wish I bought more than one pair.

I've not bought much clothing from QVC, but even I have noticed the prices climbing.

I can't remember if it was last weekend or the one before I was watching a clothing clearance show on HSN. The prices seemed more resonable.

For the Jennie Garth brand, It really looks like a Free People knock off and I bet they will aiim for Free People pricing once the initial order sells through.

When I worked in an office I bought JCrew, Alex Mill, Vince, Equipment and eBay for vintage pieces. Now that I WFH, it's mostly sweaters, striped Ts and jeans. although I am on a no buy now.

There are other places to shop Amazon is very reasonable on most things and refunds are easy

In the shop where I could once easily find plenty of every day clothing, a huge percentage of their offerings is over $100. with some collections closing in on $200 until a sale and then those same items still sell more than I now like to spend.
Last time I tried anything from Macy's, even at half price, the very same dress I bought at least 12 years ago was well over half again as much and isn't going to be wearable outside the house after several more careful launderings.

Sort of happy to have no life outside my small home right now. Just dressing to be clean and comfortable.

You'd think there would be some kind of discount on items If the volume of sales they tout are veritable .

The Hosts frequently make a big deal to announce they sold so many items . Usually they announce thousands were sold.

@amyb the Loft near me is quite small, it's mostly career clothing and not my style. Also even with their sales some of the clothing they sell is more than I want to spend. I am frugal, not of choice but more circumstances.
