I have a lot of capris. I also have very thin lower legs. I am five feet 6 inches tall. I don't think I look very good in my capris but skorts and shorts really show my vein covered legs. I am at a loss what to wear to a social outing. I wore long pants to an outdoor graduation party and I felt pretty ridiculous as well as too HOT. I live in a very rural area so jeans and tees r my usual. What do you wear in the heat? I am getting close to telling myself " so what" and putting on my shorts and capris. My flabby upper arms aren't too great either😁

Try linen or linen blend pants. I live on Gulf Coast and wear them all summer -no matter what length

I am 5'2 or so, wear crops, no more shorts for me or pedal pushers or capris. My legs are so full of sun spots, the less that shows the better.

@Rose429 Embrace who you are and wear what is comfortable. I am more comfortable in a summer dress or skirt and it is cooler than shorts. Try a casual skirt that is comfortable and wear with a cute T-shirt and sandals and you will be comfortable. Enjoy your summer.

If I'm going to be outside in the heat I bare my legs. I don't wear crops or capris. I wear either a casual skirt or a pair of shorts, both a bit above my knees. My legs are pale, but I'm lucky that they still look good in my 60s.

I have had a few people make critical comments about the whiteness of my leg color. I tried various self tanners, but I've never liked the look. No matter how hard I tried it always ended up uneven.

If you're really self conscious about your legs, and want to wear something shorter, you could try mixing some Sally Hansen leg makeup with a body moisturizer. I do that sometimes. The tube version is much easier to work with than the spray.

You could also wear a longer lightweight midi or maxi dress which would cover your legs more.

I wear ankle pants. I love the length since they only show a few inches above my ankle and are below the calf. Some capris hit me as ankle pants since I am 5 ft 4.

I don't like capris that hit at the widest part of the calf even though my legs are okay; I don't think they flatter anyone. Measure the length you want your pants to be and do a search online for ankle pants and see what you can find.

St Louis gets a lot of heat and humidity. I have a collection of midi length smocked sundresses from Kohls. They are super cool, wash and dry easily and can be worn with a short sleeved sweater or shirt . I can dress them up and down for all occasions.

@Rose429 I love dresses in hot weather. Prefer cotton, linen, 100% or high percentage. But other fabrics may be OK if the dress is not clingy. I would avoid stretch fabrics for more formal events. I like these:

The first 2 are logo; the third one studion park. They should provide good upper arm coverage, at least 2 and 3.

Isaac always has pretty dresses too.

I have seen cool looking linen-blend dresses in Amazon at very affordable prices that may work on your tall frame. I am short, so don't have them handy!

@wilma My legs are very pale too! That's OK. I don't worry. I don't like self tanners because I have seen performers with self tanners sweat in their legs. Not a good look.

Tarte had a nice waterproof body makeup that I applied to my arms without it transferring, but I was too afraid to wear on my legs.

I'm probably older and definitely shorter (5'2") than you are, but have the same vein-covered legs and "crepey" upper arms. It is usually very hot here in Arizona over the summer, so wearing long pants, or even ankle pants can be a bit much unless I am indoors with good AC..

Since most of the veins in my legs are above my knee,I prefer knee length pants, skirts, or dresses when I go out. I think that the pedal pusher length looks better on me than capris or crops, but I have some of all those. And midi or maxi dresses and skirts are not flattering on me at all so I wear knee-length skirts and dresses..

I prefer at least elbow length sleeves or wearing a sleeveless top with a very light shrug or something similar over them. I was lucky enough to buy four sets of tank tops with gauze? big shirts from Linea when he was here. The tanks are big on me, but I wear the see-through big shirts very often.

I also have non-shapely legs but don't care anymore.

I wear capris and cropped pants made from breathable fabrics.

My tops are all sleeveless (don't care how my arms look either), also made of breathable fabrics.

I'm 5'7-8" with short legs; my height is in my long torso.

I stopped being concerned with how I look quite a while ago.

I have chronic medical challenges so my health/comfort is key.

No need to suffer; go on and rock your arms and legs in all their nekkidness.

My pale legs bothered me more when I was younger. Lots of people used to make comments like, "You look sickly", "You'd look healthier with a tan", "Why don't you get out and get some sun?", etc. It really bothered me, hence all the faux tanners I tried. Now in my older years I don't care what others think. I've already decided I'm not going to buy any more leg or body makeup. Just don't want to mess with it anymore.

I say screw it and wear what you are going to be comfortable in. Who cares about veins in legs. Who wants to be hot in long pants. I have been buying skirts this year from Dicks Sporting goods. They are super comfortable and don't wrinkle, and believe me my legs leave a lot to be desired. We are our own worst critics, you know? @Rose429

@ECBG I have some linen pants for better looking, and shorts, crops and capris in light-weight knit from Appleseeds that have been so comfy and easy care for summer!

@Rose429 I am very petite at barely 5-ft and also feel self conscious about my legs. They are full of veins and surgical scars due to multiple surgeries. What works for me when I have to go out is to wear something that draws attention away from them. In my case it's wrap dresses or wrap tops which I have learned over the years is the most flattering style for my shape. Susan Graver recently had a knee length (on me slightly longer) wrap dress TSV in both petite and regular length (A646285) and I bought 2 for spring/summer functions. Nicole Miller recently featured a faux wrap top (A653425) which I bought in 2 colors that looks great with any pant style.

Like other posters mentioned a longer flowy skirt or dress is also pretty. Since I am so short a "midi" dress - even in petite - is a maxi style on me. I bought A634093 -a Susan Graver petite midi dress in the bronze color and added a belt with pretty ballet flats and felt great. I'd never worn that length before and was surprisingly pleased.
