Two things you should try. Try it somewhere you won't be able to see if it makes a mark.

When my granddaughter was 2 years old she found one of those fat black markers that have the kind of ink in them and it promises it won't come off...ever.

She decided that my fruitwood coffee table would look best colored black! She did a great job coloring it!

I started to throw it out but I'd had good luck with one of those white erraser things that you buy to remove marks from the wall. Remember they used to advertise them all of the time. They work great.

I started with one of those on the wooden table. I figured someone could put a new varnish on the table.

However, it didn't remove the fruitwood. It took off ALL of the black marker!

Try it. Also I've had some luck (not as good thought) with that sponge that QVC sells that is yellow and has a smily face on it. Just wet it a tiny bit and try that.

First try the white sponge.

Girls, I have a favorite white plastic cosmetic case that I keep in my handbag. The top of my pen came loose and made several marks on the white case. I have used: toothpaste, nail polish remover and hairspray - nothing has worked. There are many clever women out here on these boards, any suggestions on how to remove these pen marks.

I use milk for ink stains...works pretty good most of the time. Best when the stain is not too old and once the item has been machine dried you can forget about getting it out at all, at least that's the way it was when I noticed the ink stain on hubby's shirt too late.

Good luck...

Maria

A couple of years ago I was waving my arm around and got Sharpie black marker on a favorite and expensive chair -- I snatched up the cushion, wrapped it in a sheet, tossed it in my car and sped to the dry cleaner. He tried several potions that are not available to the general public and got it out, thank goodness as the fabric is no longer made.

That might be a bit extreme for a cosmetic case but it's a tip to keep in mind for clothing and furnishings. Have to act pretty fast, though.

QVC used to sell cleaning wipes that removed ink and nail polish, things that you aren't normally able to remove with cleaning wipes. I can't remember the name of them, maybe someone else can remember.

I just remember Pat James Dementri selling them on air one day with a vendor and it removed her nail polish while she was presenting them and showing how they work! I don't think she knew they would remove her nail polish!

It was a large plastic container of wipes, similar to the Clorox wipes you can buy at Target, Walmart etc. only these had a specially formulated chemical in them.

Inexpensive product you can find at Walmart and probably your local supermarket -- it's called De-Solv-It. Works great. Spot test first, though, just in case. It even cleans grease and fingerprints off stainless steel.

I forgot to say my middle daughter has young children. She swears by something you get at Hancock Fabrics (I've never seen it at grocery stores) called Grandma's stain remover (something like that).

I buy it for her and send it to her. I just know what it looks like, I don't remember the name, just mail it out.

Look it up. She says it takes away all stains.

Is it ballpoint pen ink? Give us teachers more information about the ink, even the brand, and the plastic. Usually hairspray will work for ballpoint ink on plastic. Some inks are water soluble, such as Flairs.

Girls, so far nothing is working with hairspray ( spray pump), magic eraser, nail polish, kitchen cleanser, milk------nada. I guess, I'll have to lump it! Anything at the hardware store will cost more than the little cosmetic case. The ink pen was just a old fashioned ball point BIC with a cap. Thank you again for taking your time to respond to me. QVC posters are the best.
