Purchasing QVC Clothes

When I worked full time I purchased lots of clothes both on QVC and other places. I did not question the price.

Today, however, things are different. I am retired (oh, how I hate that word) and have plenty of clothes. Not to mind the prices are over the top.

So I now browse the "as is" items on free shipping days. What a savings if you find an item you love in your correct size. Even if you do not buy it is fun to look.

@sugarbee I bought several things this weekend - 4 I think, really good prices (some lunchtime specials) and I used the free shipping code that was sent to me. I have plenty of clothes too. But if I want to stop buying, I have to stop looking. I am really good at convincing myself that I need something.

@sugarbee I completely agree! I'm home a lot of the time too. In the summer I dress very casual unless going to the dr, beauty shop, or stores lol.

Even when I was working, I'd never spend a lot of money on my summer clothing. I was fortunate enough to be home most of the summer, so I wore cut offs and tanks for the most part.

I have always tried to get good deals with clothes, I worked with computers so nobody cared how I dressed.

I love the word retired! I worked many years to enjoy this phase!

I love fashion ans clothes but there is no way I would buy QVC clothes because of the Quality, funny styles and prints and I don't buy into their claims of fabulous prices.

@KKlimBecause I loved working and getting dressed up to go out and meet the challenges of the day. If I was physically able I would still be working.

I too am retired and these days I find the best deals on QVC clothes on e-bay. If I see it on QVC I search e-bay using the description and some times item number. A lot of times I find the item at a huge discount.

There are 2 or 3 sellers that use pictures of QVC models and have tons of stuff. Also, I only order from high rated reputable sellers.

I don't need to buy much so I do not want to pay higher QVC prices.

I don't buy many pants from QVC but my daughter is getting married this weekend. I ordered some Susan Graver pants for the rehearsal dinner, they ran huge!!! I could have ordered two sizes down from my brick and mortar size.

I will try to make them work its too costly to return.

@KKlim @sugarbee I don't like being retired either. I worked in jobs I loved all my adult life. Not interested in cooking, housework or any of that stuff.

I liked being out among people, dressed up in professional clothes and doing work that interested me and interacting with co-workers, etc.

Being retired means that I aged out of those years physically and technology wise and I don't like it.

Still love to buy QVC clothes even tho I surely don't need them.

@KKlim When you said 'most people love it' made me think of my friend who lost her job when the store she worked in closed. She is miserable and making her friends and family miserable as well. She constantly says she wants a job but can't find anything she wants.

She was always been in sales in a retail location and was good at it but we live rather rural so jobs like what she wants are not available with out travelling 40 ish miles. She refuses to take a job being a clerk in a retail store....she does not want to just check people out at a register.

She just cannot seem to find her 'groove'. She is not married, no children and I think slighly resents those of us that are married or have children....

I totally understand how it could affect her and the relationships she is in-regarding her friends. With the various B+ M store closings, I hope your friend is able to find her niche again and get a job that she enjoys.

I haven't bought much but the few items didn't last. In the brands I bought, they developed holes in sweaters and or didn't wash well. So I don't buy anymore. I shop Kohl's and occasionally JC Penney. Special Occasions I went to VonMauer.

I like some of the clothing on TSV. I feel the prices are expensive. Clothing is these days but I find even the higher end stores have much better deals. I have shoped at Lands end, Northstrum, the Loft, Kohles, Marshels etc and I find much better deals.Also you can find free shipping.

Agreed the return cost has stopped me from ordering much anymore. Postage has become ridiculous!
