Free exchange option is a joke

It amazes me that the Q still offers "free" exchanges. I have NEVER received a requested exchange for a different size, let alone a different color. So again, I see the requested size is available, but I have received a credit instead of the new size mailed to me. Annoys me that I have to re-order and have another shipping fee. Nice going, NOT!

@charsha I have not had any success with it either. Maybe it works from some but it hasn't worked for me.

I had an item that I ordered and I received a completely different color than what I ordered. I called CS, explained the problem. They said they were shipping out the correct color item and I should just ship the wrong one back which I did. I never received the 2nd one that was supposedly shipped but instead was credited for my return.

I agree with you about it being annoying to have to reorder and pay shipping again.

@charsha although when you re-order the item you will pay shipping, you should have received a FULL refund from the item you sent back. If the exchange you are requesting is not in stock according to Q, you are to get a full refund - which includes shipping both ways. If you were charged shipping on the item you returned, call CS and request a refund of all charges. It should be as if you never ordered anything.

Emailing EZ returns to request the exchange be sent out first???

I have done exchanges dozens of times with no problem...but if you are just slapping the label on and hoping the returns dept. will get it right...your chances are indeed slim.

You are supposed to contact EZ returns first. They will send the new item out before the return even gets back.

You do NOT have to pay another shipping fee. Just contact the mods via email or call CS and they will straighten this out for you.

Even with EZ returns, once you contact them and they send a replacement when you send the item back that does not fit and mark " Return " they charge you the return shipping fee. The lack of QVC providing a detailed return statement , makes one conatantly have to try to figure out if they charged return shipping on an item that was an exchange . The customer is contantly emailing to request a detailed return statement or ask they reimburse you the shipping on an exchange . Then you have to double check as to if and when they submit it to your credit card .

I haven't tried this service here a the Q but I have a couple times at HSN with much success--in fact usually the exchange came way faster than the actual shipping of the item the first time. My new years resolution is not to buy anymore from here or HSN-- Have 1 auto ship item that I will keep tho.

Yes, the exchange process at HSN can be activated by the customer on their web site . Never had a problem with exchange at HSN, but QVC is a different story

The free exchange doesn't work as well as it should. I hate returning things so I don't order many clothes online. When I do I check garment measurements very carefully before ordering. That usually helps, but it's not perfect, especially if it's a brand I haven't ordered before. I requested an exchange for a different size on a QVC return form once, and got the same size the second time. Didn't want to mess with it again so I returned the item and took a QVC credit instead.

Qvc sent me someone else's clothes item and would not send out the one I ordered until I sent the wrong one back. They kept charging me month after month and then only did a refund on one month. It took forever to get it right!

I had ordered 2 outfits and only got one.

I cancelled the second one I ordered I was so mad and sent back the other item I ordered. Plus the one that was not mine.

I asked for a return label since they weren't sending them then and was told 3 times they mailed it by 3 different people and never got it!

I quit shopping for a year and a half.

Hsn send out the exchange and you have 10 days to send back the one you don't want.

Qvc won't send out anything until they get the item back. They may have changed their policy, I don't know.

Lets make it as difficult as possible to shop!

It doesn't work because everything to do with exchanges and/or returns takes sooooooooo long at the Q. By the time they process your exchange the item is gone in most sizes and colors.

That being said, if you request an exchange and they are unable to fulfill that request they will refund your shipping. If it doesn't automatically appear on your statement a phone call will resolve the issue. As I have said before, for all its faults, the Q's CS is generally very good.

However, if your heart is set on an exchange, you will most likely be disappointed.

Exchanges are a big hassle for me because I request a mailed return label, since I don't have a printer. For some reason I can't get ez return to work.

CS won't send out the label if at that moment the exchange you want isn't available. Which means you're out of luck and then they charge you for return shipping.

Not if you contact EZ returns immediately to get your new item ordered!~

As I said b4, if you are filling out the return slip, slapping the label on and expecting the exchange it isn't going to happen.

If the new item I want is still in stock, I get it on order right away.

You need to contact EZ returns first.

Unfortunately, the PTB from all places are wanting us to get a printer. That is the way of it now.

My bank/credit cards etc all want to charge me a fee to mail a statement.

NOPE! Not paying for them to tell me what I owe them!!!

Either view online only....or if you want a hardcopy (I do) print it yourself.

I order everything online and NO companies send me a return label and only Q gives me a packing slip !!

The whole 'business' world is forcing us to get a printer or be inconvienced!

OR use those square scan codes on your smart phone which requires an app.

With a printer, I can print my own return label, use free USPS pickup and not be hassled.

Thanks for the info @RespectLife , I did not know how to do this. Never tried, though.

@Kachina624 isn't it terrible that we keep having to check their work? They should just do it right and not create work for us.

Another one that drives me crazy is when qvc reps insist they can keep taxes for non-sales. Often I just let it go because it's not a lot of money and they are steadfast in their charging taxes even when the cost of item is returned. they are the worst.
